I waddled onto the beach and stole found a computer to use.

Note: I’m moderating a handful of communities in more of a caretaker role. If you want to take one on, send me a message and I’ll share more info :)

It seems that there are a few common types of sounds
Then some unique ones that still might fit into those bins:
Marathi is listed as “Jai-fa-la”, which is still somewhat similar to the second type
someone commented Gan-lan, which seems to be different
I don’t think they need a specific answer, but rather they want to comment on the different variations
It could be so that it works for embedded videos on other websites
It might be easier to make a few images with some anti-AI patterns, and then give them randomly generated file names and paths. If needed, you could do some subtle transformations each time but generating a new image each time might be more effort than its worth

Karakeep (formerly Hoarder) is another popular one, although I haven’t tried it yet
I think you want a static site generator
We use Vitepress for https://fedecan.ca/en/
https://vitepress.dev/guide/getting-started
If you want to selfhost it, there is https://www.coolify.io/ , but imo you want something like GitHub pages/ Netlify since it’s for your business
What kind of fediverse features did you want for the website? You might be better off making accounts on fediverse platforms and linking to the website
I also remember seeing articles about how the design was meant to be very simple because it was going to be cost effective, and that they were experimenting with a manufacturing technique that would work better on Mars
Yea nope.
Instead now Slate Auto seems to be going for the cost effective minimalistic truck

Check out !newtolemmy@lemmy.ca, we have some pinned posts. You can also ask questions as you get them :)
What kind of stuff did you plant?
Cool, thanks for sharing it :)
The autofill popup has always been unreliable for me on Android (with Bitwarden)
I use the quick settings tile most of the time instead
Looks cool, you should definitely build the community the way you want to!
It’s sometimes easier to build up an existing community that already has a number of subscribers but could use more love and attention. Of course you can also cross post to and from that other community if you’d prefer to grow a new one.
In this case, I’m thinking of !learn_programming@programming.dev. If you wanted to, you could reach out and offer to help moderate
I assume that one was a joke, Ventrilo looks very out of date
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ventrilo
Revolt is nice though. Once they finish upgrading the app, it would be an easy switch
I didn’t know about Fosscord (now called Spacebar it seems), it looks cool https://github.com/spacebarchat
Spacebar is a free, opensource selfhostable discord-compatible chat, voice and video platform.
- Discord-compatible (Use all your custom clients/bots with minimal changes)
- Selfhostable (Server)
- Open Source (GitHub Organization)
- Configurable (Configure every aspect and limits to your needs)
- Decentralized (no abuse of power and doesn’t have a single point of failure)
- Extendable (secure and cross-platform plugin system)
- Themeable (cross-platform theme system with design editor)
- Secure (publicly audited and hosted FOSS software for transparent foundation in terms of security)
I think it’s a mix of the two. There are legitimate reasons, and commercial reasons
Synology does not manufacture its own hard drives but instead certifies and rebrands drives from Toshiba and Seagate, leaving out only Western Digital among the world’s largest manufacturers.
They’re disabling features
Synology, maker of network-attached storage (NAS) devices, will seemingly remove advanced features from its Plus devices that are not using hard drives provided by, or certified by, Synology itself, starting with its 2025 lineup.
What you might lose from using non-Synology-approved hard drives could include pool creation and support for any issues. De-duplication, lifespan analysis, and automatic HDD firmware updates could also disappear on non-approved drives, Synology’s press release suggests.
Yes it’s hard to tell what they’re looking at, but I imagine the less info they can collect from your device the better?
I usually lookup ‘alternative frontends’ and then find a list like this on github type sites. They go out of date often
https://github.com/mendel5/alternative-front-ends?tab=readme-ov-file#facebook
With the proxy websites, it’s more of an alternative frontend where you still need an account on the platform.
What might be happening is
So if you really need to use it and there’s no alternative, you could do one of
make the real account, ideally from a privacy friendly browser, and give the absolute minimum info you can. Name and email, no profile image, privacy settings to max
make an account on a new device / wifi network, and have it be believable for the kind of person joining Facebook for the first time. I haven’t tried this myself but I’ve heard it mentioned before
Whether you made an account or not, you can keep an eye out for alternatives. Over here there are a few alternatives, and one of them (Karrot) has been growing in popularity
It might enshitify at some point, but it’s been nice so far
Some brainstorming from me:
Alternatively, what would a recycling/conversion program look like?
I should have specified, people we’re downvoting you
But looks like the score is positive again 🙂

You could self host an inventory management software
