“Christians, get out and vote!” yelled Trump. “Just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years. You know what? It’ll be fixed! It’ll be fine! You won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you, Christians!” He added, “You gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.”

      Hope so.

Because otherwise its fucking terrifying. And honestly that is the better reaction.

He is indicating at the least he plans changes that voting will not be able to change. At the worst plans to become a dictatorship.

And given his attitude. The later seems more likely.

Dystopian fiction is meant to stand as a warning. I’m beginning to think we made too much dystopian fiction and not enough hopeful fiction. That’s why I’ve fallen so in love with the Solarpunk movement

Ron Desantis’s “Weekend at Bernie’s president” joke at the RNC, like every other accusation from the GOP, was just more projection.

Oddly, this would be scarier to me if I hadn’t lived through a protracted 40-year loss of economic and social liberty on the part of the working class and working poor. It seems to me we have bipartisanship for all the really shitty things.

There hasn’t been a minimum wage increase in almost 20 years, despite the vulgar increase in cost living nationwide. The majority of Americans can no longer afford to see a doctor or get a college degree. We no longer have autonomy over our own bodies, and neither party is doing anything to stop it. They are, however, making hundreds of billions appear out of thin air for other countries’ wars. The cherry on the top of this shit pie is that 99% of voters don’t see support for child genocide or brain damage as disqualifying for the presidency.

Republicans turn back the clock. Democrats make sure no one fixes the damage. It’s the ratchet effect.

The only plus I see here is that circumstances in the US are so bad that it’s forced labor unions to get stronger by necessity.

    from: https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/trump-if-reelected-wont-have-to-vote-fixed-1235069397/

At the Florida summit, hosted by conservative group Turning Point Action, Trump promised that if he wins in November, he would “once again appoint rock-solid conservative judges who will protect religious liberty.”

After repeating his usual unfounded claims about mail-in voting, Trump launched into an appeal directed at Christian voters.

With Biden stepping aside and Trump being even dumber than he was (which to everyones surprise was possible apparently), I’m feeling a lot more positive about the US elections in November.
