    https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/psychological-medicine/article/is-adolescent-internet-use-a-risk-factor-for-the-development-of-depression-symptoms-or-viceversa/E7EEC586335D0D499D6A88AA05D3915C

But I guess this partially shows that at least some psychologists are on top of the problem. Just a few years ago (and I routinely talked to a few child psychologists then) the concensus was explicitly stating that internet / smart device use is not a significant factor.

It’s good that the papers are starting to reflect what most parents of teenagers know already. Perhaps it’s possible to align the actions as well in the near future. Some generations have been and will be lost, unfortunately.

Perhaps it’s more to do with changes to the internet over the past 5 or so years? Such as the pervasive rise of algorithmic feeds designed to drive “engagement”?

So it’s not astrology when you agree with it?

General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think “reputable news source” needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
