So here’s what I think will happen in the worst case, but in all honesty it’s extremely likely:
Live creators will leave to prevent AI from stealing their style and soul. Platforms will be filled with beautifully generated but empty garbage. And underground creators who do their work with soul will face problems, for example, there will be scoundrels who will steal or buy content to feed it to AI. Remember, this is capitalism, baby!!!
Most likely, the creators will be pestered with questions like: why don’t you use AI? Are you [Bad Word] or just mentally retarded? Look how much I’ve managed to do with AI! And why did you do so little and put your soul into it? Don’t make me laugh, in my opinion, you made some kind of forbidden crap or even satire.
In short, as you understand, this is the end of art. People have a choice: stop feeding AI out of anger, and then rejoice, watching the complaints of these consumers: why is everything so the same? Why is the Main Character invulnerable again? Why do they constantly try to deceive me, saying that a living author did this. Do you think I’m [Bad Word]? and etc. You can even give your idea how these consumers will complain lol.
Honestly, I don’t see the point in trying to explain everything in more detail, because I don’t want to get banned for “panicking” anymore and few people will understand the meaning anyway, and most will even forget it altogether.
Do you think I’m wrong?
It seems that people can get so “locked in” to the internet, that it becomes the only “real” place.
People need to be reminded the there is a physical world, and the internet isn’t the only place art is created and appreciated. Just because AI slop has invaded the internet, that doesn’t mean people aren’t going to paint or make music in the real world.
That said, I do think a boutique market will arise from hand crafted works in the wake of all this.
Yes, you are right, but creating good art takes time, and combining it with a full-time job will be difficult. Few people can do it. If you don’t believe me, you can try it yourself. I know how difficult it is, but since AI can steal your style, selling your work will be scary. Also, what if there are scammers who try to sell generated images, etc.
Well it used to be that rich people preferred to have porcelain white skin, because the poor had to be outside to work. Then the poor started working indoors, so now the rich prefer to be tanned.
Art tastes will change similarly. Art with obvious imperfections will be considered better. Actual paintings with large obvious, textured brush strokes. Books and poems printed on rough hand made paper. Maybe even hand lettered. Things that were obviously done by a skilled craftsman, but would be difficult to do with machines and Ai.
Think the neovictorians from Neal Stephensons The Diamond Age.
I hope this doesn’t lead to another “videogames use film grain and motion blur” situation

Soul stealing is back on the menu.
In all seriousness, art sharing (piracy), art copying and style mimicking have been around forever. I doubt there would be any meaningful changes, despite more presence of AI images, same as we have seen more presences of anything new, for instance rise of 3d generated media instead of drawn or practical effects. Everyone’s souls should be safe.
The soul must be safe, you know, it’s so funny, you hope for the mercy of a tyrant, right?
I just don’t believe something that does not exist can get hurt.
No one can steal your soul. Because souls do not exist.
How can I say this, the soul is a simple concept for describing a person and his personality, values and emotions, I don’t know exactly… But there is most likely no such soul as in religion.
So they are replacing not exactly the soul but the person, making him and his dreams unnecessary garbage.
I don’t see how that would happen.
I’ve pirated lots of movies I don’t think actors personalities, values and emotions got destroyed by that. That would be some black magic shenanigans.
As said, plagiarism have existed forever, people’s emotions haven’t been altered by someone else plagiarizing or straight up copying their craft.
That’s Nintendo levels of dramatism when they discovered that someone made a switch emulator.
Come on, I’m too lazy to explain, I think it’s better for you to figure out what’s going on yourself, it irritates me to explain every time that not everything is so simple, and besides, it’s not a fact that you will care about my answer.
But still, you are right in some ways, but reality is usually not as simple as we would like it to be.
You’re right that the vast majority of media will shift to being AI, to the point where you’re really going to have to dig to find real art, but art will never cease to exist. So long as people have a way to make things, they will. It might be surrounded by a sea of soulless generated content, but it will exist. It will likely never be a viable career, even for the most talented, however. It will only ever be something people do for their own self-expression.
I agree, capitalism does not tolerate freedom, it needs everything, including souls. Well, if you look at it sensibly, it was obvious, like, what other dream profession are you? Here, take a pickaxe and it’s time to mine coal in the mine, just be careful, otherwise you can easily die there…
The same story was told when photography was invented. And yes, the portraits really died en masse. Did painting come to an end after that? Of course not.
Well, now the situation is clearly “improving”, so I’m not sure whether you or I are right… lol
No I think the same, AI may end the careers in designing real soon
I don’t like how people are using AI literally everywhere and for everything. But I also think (kind of) that the AI revolution might bring more jobs into the market because every big inventions did like the printing press, internet, calculator, computer and all
But I’m not so sure the AI would do that tho
Considering that AI is stealing style, I think the authors will think twice before risking their souls… Well, and about jobs, hahaha, AI will eventually just learn to do everything itself, what the hell other jobs? Maybe at a construction site?
This is the most blatant lie I’ve ever seen, no, it’s just funny…
I mean I think the way things have been going for awhile there are many many things that never see the light of day due to opportunity. I think it would be worse if not for free software licenses. There are 8 billion people on the planet and I can say for certain that ideas folks have and don’t talk about or disseminate will eventually show up but the more opportunity and reward is limited to a small subset the longer that will take.
Oh, I mean, if there is too much content, you won’t make money on it, maybe pennies, because the competition will be crazy in that case. I hope you won’t believe in sweet lies and will face the truth?
