minus-squareandrew@radiation.partylinkfedilinkarrow-up1·2 years agoIt’s got a long history of vulns due to its antiquated codebase, there are some nice alternatives with more stable codebases SMF is still viable Flarum is not too shabby but it’s probably a bit wackier than they want FluxBB with some addons is nice and super simple Then for paid alternatives: Xenforo IP.board That said, as long as they keep MyBB up to date it should be fine

That was maybe 15 years ago? I’m surprised MyBB is still publishing new versions.
MyBB is a weird choice in 2023
