In the meantime the West is trying to ban all sorts of EV imports from China, because they 1) laughed at the green energy boom for decades, 2) are flooded with lobbying money from fossil fuels industries.

Key reason is governement didn’t stop Chinese imports or people hooking up to the grid with their home solar. Most places in the world, the utility monopolies get to control regulations against such permissiveness.

I think it’s best to put the article date on the post unless it’s very recent. That tells people how old the info is. Some might not care, others might. You didn’t include it, so I supplied it. Hope that helps.

Is the implication that new developments or information may have come out in the <4 months since this article was published which invalidates some or all of the information it contains? I’m having trouble seeing why this is an issue that needs pointing out in this particular case.

Where would you prefer content like this be posted and discussed?

I don’t think the article is old enough to be considered out of date for this community, so posting it here is ok. But, it is old enough that I think it is beneficial to include the date. The community sidebar does say that the purpose of the community is posting news. Lemmy is not currently big enough to have an active community about solar power. Otherwise, that would be the right place.
