They know they’re probably not going to be the majority in 2 years, and they don’t want to lose the power to block everything if that happens.

I’ve been afraid of them trying this, the GOP as a whole seems afraid of turncoats but I personally don’t think a single one of them has that kind of spine.

They voted in unison to hide the epstein files. They only had one Trump cabinet appointee who had up to 3 GOP votes against him and still passed: Pete Hegseth. The GOP Senator who voted against the most was Mitch McConnell, ffs.

A GOP senate without filibuster will bring chaos and destruction to this country.

do the Dems know they can use the filibuster or do they just propose laws while in power knowing the Rs will filibuster it?

Dems haven’t had more than 48 senators in over ten years, but yes they do filibuster all the time. Fun fact, votes on SCOTUS picks and cabinet appointments can’t be filibustered under current senate rules, in part because the GOP tried to filibuster Obama appointees.

Ok, my point may have been that they can use it but don’t know how to effectively … because I’m not sure you’ve noticed how the bar has been moved so far right that Reagan is now considered a moderate centrist

Have you noticed how we don’t have many (almost any) new laws passing? The filibuster is why. The house passes all kinds of vile bills and the senate promptly lets the bills die
