I am filled with disgust.
The Supreme Court is temporarily blocking a judge’s order requiring Donald Trump’s administration to fully fund a critical food assistance program that has stranded millions of Americans and their families after the government failed to keep it afloat at the start of the month.
And a nontrivial amount of confusion
But the administration is simultaneously telling states that it will immediately begin funding the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program after a weeklong lapse — the first in the program’s 61-year history.
I’m wondering how they’re going to use this opportunity to continue to prioritize cruelty.
Don’t forget, Republicans are the pro-starvation party.
Every left-leaning person with a legal background that I’ve seen talk about this has said that this is actually better than it sounds because all of the alternatives were worse. This actually tied the hands of the conservative bloc of the SCotUS to handle the case quicker than the alternative.
