I mean sure? The constitution is pretty clear on the subject. And I’m sure this current administration would love to have some even more recent case law on the books. And if they do overturn it, we can always look to France for how to best handle the situation.

Hearing it at all is a joke, and the lawyers arguing it should be disbarred.

      That said

names themselves after a conspiracy theorist

puts either a Nazi dogwhistle or an unoriginal yet personally identifying mark in their username

You see how this is a weird look right

88 is a number, which in a username, often denotes the birth year of the individual.

Can we stop usurping two-digit numbers and pretending they have magical meanings? Otherwise, we’re going to just have to throw out the whole Arabic numerical system, because every combination now has some other special meaning.

What kind of bot-brained “it’s just a word” bullshit is this? It’s not any number, it’s that specific number combined with a stereotype of conspiracy theorist who specifically believes in that kind of hidden messaging… And uses it himself.

Further, it’s Lemmy. You don’t need usernumbers, that was a deliberate choice.

Small problem: If the past decade is any indication, your average American has about 0.000001% as much spine as your average French.
