I find the Wisp Thicket and its denizens interesting, since there are a lot of similarities between them and the Grimm Troupe.

Most noteworthy is of course the flame obsession of both and especially the self immolation. But the Wisp flame is a bit more orange, so its not exactly the same. And the nightmare flame didn`t have any wisp equivalent.

However other things also have parallels: the red cloth both wear are pretty much the same (pointy and same red tone), but the burning bugs are missing any masks. And both have a father obsession.

My headcanon is that the Grimm Troupe passed through Pharloom, but since the kingdom was not rotten enough, they then continued on. Their impact created the burning bugs and these bugs try and get on their level of flame mastery.

Since Brumm showed that the masks seem to have a special influence & connection to the troupe members, that could explain why the burning bugs are missing it. Since they aren’t real members and don’t have the power of the nightmare heart.

I missed it and needed a guide to even find it. I found the outside of the big bell and tried many things to get passed it, but I didn`t think the greymoor would be the entrance.

But what was your impression of the Wisp Thicket and its inhabitants?
