It’s easy to see that during the cold war, we had east and west empires in a cold war.
Nowadays we have more powers, like UE, USA, BRICS, Japan and so on. But situation is still the same. We have big alliances that want more (i.e. USA attack on Venezuela or Russian attack on Ukraine, and way more of this in Africa and middle east).
There is one hegemonic power that has been doing imperialism for decades. They have by far the largest military presence across the globe, and they maintain currency hegemony over this long period as well. It is one empire, not empires in your “both sides” or “many sides” rhetoric. The EU and Japan et all are willing servants of this hegemonic order for most of this period. Millions have been killed by wars, interventions and economic mechanisms that serve to maintain this empire.
The capitalist empire has always been like this. You are comparing trade alliances to war mongering genocidal profiteering across the globe over decades. These are not even close to equivalent.
Just because soviet empire failed due to giving all the power to a small group of people, and after decades people become corrupted and ruined their own country, doesn’t mean that that only USA is bad.
Look for example what China is doing to the minorities, look what Russia did to the Chechnya, then read how many very very bad things are going on in the Africa.
USA ist just the most stable. Of course it’s imperialistic country, and they are responsible for very very bad things. USA is ruled by oligarch like Russia. The only reasons USA and west are in a way better situation, is because they were supporting human rights, they taxed oligarchs and created middle class. Right now in the USA they are backing up from that, they are replacing human rights and middle class with religion and nationalism, so they are more and more like russia. But with a better army, better budget, better intelligence, and better economy.
How this gonna end, i don’t know. Maybe revolution in the USA, that would be nice, also revolution in Russia would be nice, especially that Russia has very very big problem with oligarchs and exploitation of regular people.
Russia as it exists today is a creation of the US/NATO. Your western chauvinism runs so deep. The empire has been fighting any alternative to capitalism/fascism for decades, but you say these things.
The US was closely involved with Russian leadership after the end of the USSR that they facilitated. Eventually Putin realized he would not be allowed “at the table” with US/NATO/EU.

Russia had it chance. But russia and post KGB agents decided to pump more money in oligarchs, and create authoritarian regime. This is the problem with russia.
But this is what you’re using.

It’s funny how you have skipped western empires.

They’re giving sources and you’re giving baby’s first imperial narrative
You want sources for what? That russia is ruled by the same group of people for many years, that oligarch are in charge of the country? XD
Or do you want source that Putin was in the KGB?
Dude, you also want evidences and sources for the fact that water in a room temperature is wet?
