Fuck Work

Airsonic music server… There are a few quirks getting it all set up properly, but once it works, it just seems to work forever. Samba file sharing server. Also miniDLNA server can make it easy to watch your movie collection on a tv. The airsonic DLNA doesn’t seem to be working currently. I also have a few mastodon bots running from a Pi4. Also could run a tor relay node, which would make it so it’s less idle. I have a lot of stuff on my Pi4 and it is still mostly idle most of the time. Thats fine though. For me it’s not a huge problem, since overall, my goal is to make it use as little power as possible for all those things. I think thats the whole point is to really use the most lightweight computer that can do what you need. If you just need the print server, you could always get a lower power Pi so you can really optimize how much power needs to be used and maybe even do some sort of Wake on LAN setup so it can be sleeping while not in use.

No power is ever as absolute as people think. AmeriKKKa has been in a death spiral for a while now, but it will probably still tske a really long time to disintigrate. If anything, fascism signals that the elite are losing their grip on power as it’s the tool they always turn to when desperately holding on. It will look like absolute power for a while, but it will ultimately burn itself on both ends until there isn’t anything left to burn. Alot of people will inevitable get burnt up between the flames though.

I don’t know why this is the line in the sand. The American oligarchy has been running shit since Koch brothers o’clock. There are some small practical differences, but for all intents and purposes, those differences are negligable and the rich get the laws they pay the government officials to produce.

Maybe put it on peertube?

To be honest, this always happens. So what? Most people want their corporate social media. My parents will never stop using Facebook no matter how bad it gets. I think focusing on metrics like what most people are doing is just a race to the bottom. If we keep building what we want to exist in the world and stop focusing on which platform does the best numbers, I think we will find its quality that counts, not quantity.

I love star trek, so I love that instance, but Lemmy.world feels like its replicating the toxic discussion style from reddit. I’m not here because I loved reddit but hate what they did to it. I have hated reddit for years, I am here for a completely different thing from reddit. The slrpnk instance and the Lemmy.ml are the main instances I want to interact with. If there are other anarchist instances in the future, I’d like to interact with those, but ideally keep the toxic bullshit to a minimum.

I would be on here more if you could block entire instances. If its possible at this point, its not as straight forward as mastodon.

I love this idea. Will definitely look into installing on my desktop. I’m working on a searxng instance that filters out all the toxic sources that think they own the internet also. Its also very much a work in progress, but yeah, these putzes get too much attention on the internet and anything we can do for our own peace of mind to delete them from pur lives is absolutely worth doing. I put a lot of filters on mastodon to the same end and it has made my social media experience so much more enjoyable.
