i’unno, I just know that every person I’ve ever known that bought a samsung device that was not a phone, they ended up fighting through multiple warranty repairs and service visits before inevitably getting a refund.

I just find it astonishing that Samsung still makes appliances… Considering how awful they are at doing it, and how much money they have to lose for the dozen+ warranty repair visits they inevitably have before ultimately refunding the device.
Maybe thats why they have screens, So their appliance division can finally turn profit by advertising you until their device dies

Most of its just AI generated websites. Search for any topic and you’re likely to get 50 AI generated website that give a similar bulletpoint presentation of what search item X is according to the AI that generated the site.

I used to self-host searxng for a while, but somehow the search results were always off and mixed with to much non-relevant results :/.
I mean, getting non-relevant results happens with every search engine anymore.
The days of your search results being relevant, and what you want on the first page, are long dead thanks to SEO and other factors.

Which infuriates me as a LotR fan.
and also makes me side eye Chris Tolkien hard, cause he is normally very aggressive in protecting the intellectual property…

If you have to create a wikipedia alternative to stop being fact checked, then maybe you are just fuckin wrong.
Billionaires: “No, No… I can’t be wrong. I’m Rich! I’ll create a microcosm of information that warps reality to make sure I’m right!”
Conservapedia: Wait…thats what I was for… what about me?!

I know all about EA’s sellout.

the problem is that the overwhelming majority of gamers are short sighted little gremlins who need constant access to new shiny to feel validated.
Sure, they come on the internet to yell and scream about the horrid injustice of it all, but the second the vile evil company that they’ll never again support releases their next game… they are at gamestop preordering the 800 dollar super legendary edition.
There are people who actually do follow through, I am one of them… There are several companies on my shit list that I will never buy from again, and in over a decade have not bought from them. . . but people that actually follow through on it are too rare to make a difference.

What game is this? so I know what company to never buy from again.

how much do these places pay to make their apps into terminal cancer that cant be excised.

I know, its just SO HARD to not buy your latest shiny. You just cant resist, so it must be someone elses fault.
Its always someone elses fault.

Only person that thinks reading the packaging is a mountain of effort, is the kind of lazy person who buys stupid home automation devices to avoid walking five feet to turn off a lightbulb.

Very simple.
Does the product say requires an internet connection? Does it say on the packaging that it requires an app to use? Do you get home and find out it needs those things despite the packaging not saying it?
Then don’t buy it/Return it.
Its not that hard to avoid falling into this pit. But I guess if you are too lazy to walk the five feet to turn your living room lights off, maybe you’re too lazy to actually read anything… and if you’re that lazy, then I dont give a fuck about how you get screwed.

Only people that dont want to blame the consumers for buying the shit… are the idiots that buy the shit, which is why they get so incensed when you argue that landfill shovel shit wont stop being sold until they stop buying it.
Stop buying shit, and companies will stop dumping billions into its R&D and advertising. They’re not doing that shit to waste money, They’re doing that to sell products… and if you stop buying it, they’ll stop making it.

if consumers acted in their best interest, none of this shit would exist.

enjoy it. its a great platform to communicate with your friends in game on.
but its not a place for tech support, breaking announcements, etc etc etc

discord is a communication platform for friends to game on. nothing more, nothing less.
It should not be an information archive.
It should not be a source of tech support.
It shouldnt be a source of important news/announcements.
All that shit should be on your fucking website, where it can be indexed, archived, and searched for.
Cause discord isolates information in such a way that you will never be able to find out unless you actively use discord, actively hunt down the right discord channel, and properly luck into finding the information.
verses just going to a web browser and typing " [game name] [bug description]" and likely getting the solution, or at least relevant information, in the first 3 returns.
Discord holds information hostage, and kills it should a channel shut down/delete, losing it forever… and anyone that has played older games know that some of that information and community fixing is essential, even a decade+ later.
bring back fucking forums

if idiots stop buying this shit, they wont keep making it.
the problem is the idiots keep buying

how many times does logitech specifically, and these companies in general, have to do this before idiots stop buying this shit?
If only there was some sort of…blocker… of ads… on websites…
