I’ve been saying for the past decade that I think the federal government holds way too much power and needs to dissolve. The country is too big for how centralized the power is and the states cannot effectively satisfy their constituents’ needs when they’re so beholden to federal interests. I love the state and city that I live in and I don’t want to have to move across the world in order to live somewhere with sane politics but I’m sick of progress here being delayed because so many of our resources are going to the federal government and being compromised by the interests of the other 98% of the country.

Objects like an unbreakable stick are still composed of atoms suspended in space and held together by the fundamental forces of nature. When you push on one end, the other end doesn’t immediately move with it but rather the object experiences a wave of compression traveling through it. Generally, I believe the convenience of cheap shit delivered to your door comes at the invisible cost of exploitative labor practices and/or excessive consumerism by the means of low quality crap that will need to be replaced regularly or through “buy more and save” deals. If you want to avoid supporting that, you’re probably going to have to spend a few extra bucks buying from a smaller business or buying secondhand.

Convenience isn’t free and if we want to reduce our dependence on harmful institutions we’re going to have to make some sacrifices.

Easy fix, don’t buy from Amazon.

Fold it tip-to-crust with the sauce side facing out and then eat it from the middle-out.

If we’re talking 90+ percentile then no question I’d go with smarts and use it to have a big impact on some field of science. Otherwise I’d probably still pick smarts but it’s more of a tossup.

I loathe this runaway capitalist system we live in just as much as the next but this violent rhetoric is getting a bit too spicy. Let’s tax the owning class into oblivion. Take away their undeserved wealth and make them work for a living like the rest of us. Riot and rebel if our lives depend on it. But these calls for the outright slaughter of other human beings are going too far.

For how much he lies, why the fuck would he say this? Why draw the line here and not just say he does like he did before? Genuinely baffled by this one.

Seems like a reasonable conclusion to me. Thank you for communicating as well as for your time and effort spent handling this in a careful and mature way.

There’s a fine line between misinformation and “subjectively offensive information”. To me, this seems like it was a pretty clear case of abuse of power regardless of where you stand on the original issue and retroactively changing the rules to excuse that abuse does not bode well for this community.
