Have you ever played on a 240 / 280 / 360 Hz Display? Or played an esports title where low frametimes/ input delay are important? The difference in how fluid and responsive a game feels is massive between 120 and 240+ fps.
I always connect to Sofia because I also remember that ‘fact’ lol
I always liked tinkering with shit. Modding gameboys, custom fw on my phones and psp… It was the next logical step.

Ah, the Quake 4 stroggofication scene. A classic.
Gnome, sometimes XFCE on older hardware.
I had the same issue. What I found is that when I run gnome or KDE, I don’t get any dropped frames. XFCE, Openbox setups, Cinnamon & Mate on the other hand all had the frame drop issue. I managed to fix it in XFCE through playing around with the compositor settings, no luck in any of the other DEs tho.
No, you’re not. I have a 3080Ti and get anything between 20 and 45 fps in 1440p, lowering the graphics options doesn’t do jack shit either. 12700k, 32GB 3600 MHz DDR4, Game installed on a m.2 980 SSD. Do you lie about your fps to feel better about buying it ?
