That’s so cool!!
But isn’t the intention of the fediverse to keep our people just trying to make money? Even a chill podcast needs to make money.
Although maybe since the fediverse gives users/instances so much control we could keep them in line hahaha
Tbf if you want a big following for ads and such you need to use whatever has the people on it.
Lemmy is great for personal hobbies and enjoyment, but not running/advertising a business (which I assume the podcast is).
And it should probably stay that way? Not sure.
But I’m of the opinion that stuff like Instagram/Fb/X will always be around, but I’ll stick with things like Lemmy for personal stuff.
So cool!
This has been my experience. I use any random adapter I find in Walmart or Amazon for cheap and they last forever, and my phone charger is setup like you say so it’s fine in Germany, Ireland, UK, etc.
Thanks for showing me this I didn’t know fossify existed
I figured it out thanks! For some reason I had to restart my phone and it finally worked.
At first it wouldn’t update to fossify when I tried, so everytime it would only give me the everytime/just this once toggle for Google photos.
Actually perfect no fancy add ons just pics!
I’m having an issue when viewing videos with it though - for some reason it won’t let me set fossify gallery as the default video viewer so everytime I have to click it after clicking on a video. Do you know how to set the default video app to fossify?
Do you use a gallery app you like? I’m kind of sick of Google photos. I always have to “save a copy” when editing and it also separates my photos in a dumb way.
I’d like something simple that isn’t trying to sell me something (storage)
Great point! It also depends on how much time you have for it. I built a 3D printer when I was younger because I had hours most days to work on it.
Now I would probably only have a few hours a week to tinker, so if I spent most of that time just working on the printer and couldn’t get stuff actually printed and printed well, that would feel like wasted time personally!
Would be kinda cool to buy a functioning printer and print parts for a diy printer. Then it’ll have children haha!
So this is where the fediverse chick came from huh haha
One of those hobbies where starting cheap actually makes it not worth it. Kind of like a cheap camera can make you feel discouraged once you get pretty good at photography. A $500 camera can get you started, but a $1500+ (or refurbished more expensive option) will unlock a whole new level of creative abilities (speaking from experience!)
What would you say the gap between the “this 3d printer will do the job but make you lose your mind” and “this is a reliable 3d printer that is reasonably priced for hobbies”?
I’ve done similar things. I’ll clear my throat or something if it seems like someone hasn’t noticed my presence.
