It keeps the streets clean both literally AND metaphorically!
Know thyself
It keeps the streets clean both literally AND metaphorically!
Reducing your meat consumption is likely the most effective way of lowering your personal climate ‘footprint’.
I hear this a lot, but I think the context of what other actions are available and their relative impact is important in this kind of discussion.
Of course, this is all with the knowledge that trying to put the onus of fixing climate change on the individual is both doomed to fail and a great burden for many. Climate change can only be properly addressed by top-down action, which we should all advocate for.
You may have me confused with someone else. I didn’t say anything about defederation or banning instances.
What in your opinion is behavior or views that is worthy of defederation? There appears to be many different standards for that from what I’ve seen.
If you’d like examples I know some of their bad takes are starting to be posted to !meanwhileongrad@sh.itjust.works
Yet he who aims with his hands has forgotten the face of his father.
I think we can all agree: You kill with the heart.
I think you’ve confused this post with an airport.
Would it be possible to have the error page when you are being attacked/there is an outage point to some other lemmy instances to go to?
I think that could be a big help if there is an issue when a new user tries to check out .world for the first time. They will at least have a link to click on to check out what lemmy is like on another instance and maybe sign up there too.
Yeah, it reminds me of some kind of elongated bat’leth
Everything you buy is shipped in some capacity
It will start to stabilize eventually, but we’re probably not going to see that anytime soon!
This is why having a big popular instance isn’t all bad. It helps detect and fix the scaling problems and inefficiencies for all the other 1000s of instances out there!
I’m so happy right now 😢
This will be possible to actually implement on Lemmy, whereas reddit was closed source, and didn’t really care about their communities.
Just curious how you think you might go about this. Do you plan on contributing yourself, forking, or using the community to influence the direction/prioritization of new features?
I’m going to assume you weren’t politically aware when Obamacare was being passed. It barely made it through as it was. There was absolutely zero chance universal health care could ever have been passed at that time. To claim Obama had the power to enact it is insane.
Also, since Obamacare contained huge expansions for medicaid eligibility, and Obamacare is, as you claim, “literally a conservative system”, wouldn’t medicaid for all be the most conservative system of them all?
Finally, no, no one is left in ERs to die, insured or not. Heck you don’t even need to be a citizen. That hasn’t been true since 1986. That said, you would get a hefty bill if they actually know who you are and I do fully support a system where that is not the case and one can get treatment without worrying about the cost.
Obama even had a supermajority for six months of his presidency, and we still had to hear the usual excuses people make in order to deflect from criticism of Democrats.
Another way of saying this is that with only 72 days of congress that Obama actually had a supermajority, he passed the largest expansion of healthcare coverage for Americans since medicare/medicaid.
I guess that’s a conservative outcome to you though.
Do you really think they plate the food in the back of the house, then turn around and dump that plate of food into a container, and then wash the plate?
No wonder they need to charge extra.
Cost of takeout bags, containers, IT, all that jazz,
And then we subtract the cost of plates, dishwashers, chairs, menus, tables, IT for their internal POS and seating systems… gosh, sounds like I should be getting a discount!
Some would say that acting is the grandest lie.
