  • The Nvidia issue is overblown IMO. Yes, it used to be petty bad a couple of years ago with bugs and glitches all over the place, especially with Wayland. These days not so much. Just use the proprietary Nvidia drivers and you will have a solid experience. It’s honestly been over a year since I last had an issue that I could narrow down to Nvidia hardware.

Just make sure to read some reports from people with the same model of laptop. Laptops with very specific hardware can have compatibility issues.

  • Mafia 1. Not only is it still one of the best single player storylines, it’s also how I “met” my best friend. My family had just moved between cities and I had to change schools. I obviously didn’t know anybody yet and joining a class with existing social circles can be hard. The first common ground I found with someone was this game, as we both had played it and struggled with the same mission (“The Race” iykyk). We hung out after school trying to beat this game together. This is essentially how our 15+ year long friendship began.

I also really got into classic cars because of the game and my future hobbies and career would most likely have been very different had I not played it.

  • It’s hit or miss. There are cars that are look tiny on the outside but provide enough room even for people taller than me. Then there are large ones that seemingly offer enough space, but have things like backrests that are too short or have steering wheels that are too low.

The backrests are honestly the biggest problem, because they are shaped for the average person’s back. When you’re too tall, they put pressure on the wrong spots and cause back pain after a few hours. The tricky thing is that it’s not immediately noticeable on a test drive, so you might be stuck with it after making the purchase.

Most cars that I’ve fit in were ones where you’re driving in a sort of reclined position, because you can counter the short backrest by sliding down in the seat a little. Or 80s limos with a sofa-like feel.
