For things that have a short time between ready and gone with the wind, I use organza bags, like for wedding favors, just put one over the top when it’s almost there and it will collect them without hindering the drying process. Some people use paper bags and twine, but this is cuter.
Similar tactic- leave balled up, slightly damp newspaper around directly on the dirt overnight, get up early and collect them, they will be chock full. I do it the night before trash day and put them in the municipal compost cart. I’m sure some escape, but the majority stay in the bin until collection. Lots to eat in there.
When I was a kid I had a dog who loved to put these guys in his mouth. He’d come in with a funny look on his face, we’d lift up his lips and he’d have one or several of them tucked up between his gums and cheek like it was tobacco. No idea why that was so appealing to him.
Lovely! Since they’re all in containers it would be pretty simple to use copper tape to keep the slugs at bay: https://www.agilehomeandgarden.co.uk/post/how-does-copper-tape-stop-slugs
Good luck!
My problem is the deer adore them, even when soaked in hot pepper wax and repels-all (rotten egg and garlic juice).
These pics are from the ones growing in the back garden of the plant nursery near me, shockingly beautiful flowers:
TIL I should be a landscaper.
My two cents is plant fruit trees that will do well in your area. Or get goats. Or half and half.
Hard to say without knowing which flowers. I can say from experience that California Poppies, buttercups, chamomile, vetch and salvias will come back after mowing. They will be shorter though- they learn and try to avoid the mower. If you’re in a zone with mild, late winters you can probably start new seeds now, if you can keep watering daily.
A lot of them will consider it a good (if early) deadheading and come back, if it’s not cut all the way down and there are a few leaves left. What did you have growing?
It’s a flower, snails do like it. It prefers shade in hot weather, can take full sun in cooler weather. Likes to be kept moist.
I don’t understand what’s happening in this picture. Why is the blue draw string not being used? Is the bag too short for the bin? Is that a laundry hamper? How would the groves for the lid work if a bag is in place?
I know what they are, but I don’t want to ruin the surprise!! Keep them watered, they are nice.
Advertisers pay a fee to the website where their ad is displayed every time someone clicks on it, it’s called the Pay Per Click model. It’s how websites make money off running ads. There is a small fee for displaying the ad and larger one for click throughs.
I once got a full color, too many graphics, tiny writing to fit it all on one full page flyer about how doritos is made with human stem cells. I’ve got it in a file somewhere because it was so weird I couldn’t throw it out. And yes, some of the graphics were of the flavoring fetuses.
It’s X box’s computer now…
Why do I have to tell my computer several time per week that I do not wish to let the X box app make changes to my computer?? I’ve never had anything to do with an X box. Oh, now you’re going to make my computer unusably slow unless I update and… what’s that… ? I can’t fucking update unless I ALLOW X BOX APP TO MAKE CHANGES TO MY COMPUTER??? Fuck you windows 11.
It’s a requirement at Red Cross but it’s just a recommendation at Vitalent- anyone can do anything but they have “ideal” donation types for each blood type.

Is it closed or open bottom? If you’re just using it as a raised bed (open bottom) on top of usable soil it’s fine. If it’s closed, you’ll want to stack a few open ones to give some more depth or you’ll have short plants with not a whole lot of fruit.
This is delightful.
Can’t tell you how disappointed I am that isn’t just a chart of increasingly tubby kittens.
