I prefer it TBH. things are easier to reach and suit a phone better than what was essentially the desktop app squeezed onto a phone.

Is something like Heroic launcher required now to play the Epic version of Rocket League? I have it on Steam and get 144FPS at 1440p, mixed settings between performance and quality.
So glad torrents don’t have region lock 👍
This seems kinda scummy. If someone breaks TOS then ban the one account. I’ve seen for years now people bringing up jellyfin, knew it was coming when I saw this headline. I never tried it because I have iOS devices and an Apple TV, but now I see there are 3rd party apps for jellyfin on iOS/tvos. I may try it out, move if it satisfies my needs.
Been using proton for torrenting and other use, it’s been great. Connect to Switzerland from USA with good speed and security. I use them for email so I got a good package deal.
Use Signal to talk to my gf. Had her get it so we didn’t have to use some shit like SMS or Snapchat, since I’m on iPhone and she’s on android. Had a couple of issues with messages not going through but since she upgraded her old phone it’s been fine.
I use Apple TV, something about needing a third party proprietary app makes it seem cobbled together compared to Plex, especially with that app being freemium. Maybe someday they will have a dedicated app. Last time I looked (probably a year ago) they didn’t have a system for ratings to make a kids account, has that been added?
That would be better than any FAST I’ve seen.
Wow, it’s almost like those free channels the put all over my Plex that nobody wants was was a bad investment. Still love Plex as a service but I find it hard to see any value in FAST.
Fair point. But I will say as a pretty new comer to Lemmy, it is hard to find an instance that you know will be a good fit.
Having read this, I get what they’re going for, but also question the venue a bit.
With Lemmy being about federation, it sounds like they want to have a de federated mini Lemmy to themselves where they can decide who is allowed in or not. Not that that is a bad thing, if there’s a demand for it, but I think it’s different than what every other instance is about and maybe would be better as something like a Discord server (or FOSS alternative).
Again just my 2c, I just know I’m looking for a better quality alternative to Reddit, and an isolated instance isn’t my cup of tea.
When you get divorced, you make decisions 😂
Disclaimer: pretty new to Lemmy a federation (older than this account though).
From what I gather, defederation is supposed to be a function of this whole system, but intended to cut off whole instances that refuse to moderate or are active cesspools. In saying that, I don’t understand Beehaw cutting off two of the other biggest instances. I know they have a weird mentality over there of no downvotes and saw some odd conversations condemning someone’s political views while admitting to not know the person at all (dafuq?).
It seems to me it would make more sense to block a single community rather than the whole instance.
Maybe they want a walled garden, but as new people come in and want as much content as possible to show that this is a better venue than Reddit, to me they give off the wrong message.
Am I mistaken somehow? Anyone able to enlighten me?

I got a $600 projector and have about 90 inch display ( can hit 120 if my apartment was bigger). No need to go to a cinema, overpay for drinks and snacks, and I can pause and pee whenever I want.
Gonna admit my ignorance, I’m not sure exactly what is and using possible with an IPO. I know it can go poorly, and I know stocks can be shorted. I just hope they get no financial success.
Short Reddit on IPO. Give him a good farewell.
I’m part of a private tracker site. I’m pretty anon to them. They have an email but I use a VPN all the time. They had a requirement of having the same IP, so I just used one specific server.
