This just isn’t true. There are tons of dependencies that are going to get left all over the place

Right. But cleaning up the old files left over from swapping your DE is much easier if you actually have read and write access to those files. When you swap DEs, it’s gonna leave shit behind whether you’re atomic or not. But atomic systems have more barriers to cleaning them up, to prevent the user from accidentally cleaning the wrong things.

On atomic systems like Bazzite and the universal blues, getting rid of the old files from the previous DE can be a huge hassle. On normal systems it’s a lot easier

I think twitch drives this a lot. Streamers getting annoyed with the game they’re playing tend to do better on their vods and bring in more people. As a result, people become more and more tolerant to games that are just annoying.
Like I understand that some people enjoy the gameplay of soulslikes, but who enjoys run backs?

The show isn’t for nerds. It’s for people who believe they are a nerd because they like sci-fi

But doesn’t surviving an explosion imply that they did in fact get exploded? Just cause it ain’t kill em doesn’t mean they didn’t go through it

Well they still got blown up didn’t they?
The chopping technique is about eliminating risk, mostly. Sure for a single meal and being aware you’ll be fine. But getting into the habit of a good technique means you’ll be fine even when you’re tired or distracted

That looks like it’s probably a great game for someone like 5 years older than me tbh. I think I just missed the nostalgia train necessary for that kind of game

Yeah I’ll be buying this. This is the game I’ve had in my head for the last 5 years
Yeah, that was my guess too. I never got around to looking into it properly before I ended up having to wipe it for sale anyways
Libreoffice does something weird to files. Not sure what it is, but I had to use it to fix my bash config at one point and then every time I launched my terminal after that I would get a “command not found:” line with no command, but the terminal still worked so I never bothered to figure it out lol
At the time of posting, my most powerful computing device was my phone lol

Unless your threat modelling includes nation-states
At which point you should have a handful of extra layers

This is anecdotal
Not just anecdotal. The default SSH port gets hit by ridiculous numbers of bots because a lot of people don’t bother to change it. This will be true no matter what machine you’re on. Hell, your desktop at home has probably been scanned quite a few times even if all you do is watch porn on it

While you’re not wrong, we still need to understand it at least well enough to avoid RCE and fix memory-related bugs

In what universe would someone have looked at that and gone…
I repeated you nearly word for word, only substituting a few words. Go ahead and look up “parody”
Currently using obsidian, will check this out ASAP
