This literally happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I even honked the horn and they just ignored it and kept talking like they were the only ones on the road. Some people are just so oblivious.

I have Linux on my laptop but I have a Windows gaming PC and I’m honestly trying to figure out how could you not get steam to start? Never had an issue with that before…
Seriously, I honestly feel like this is a bad look for Lemmy right now. Like who cares how people enjoy Lemmy? Also, why do people care so much about how others spend their money?
Some of these people don’t even realize they are using a closed source app (connect) and have no problem with it, but when price is introduced all of a sudden people are up in arms.
Don’t like the price? Continue to use Sync(with ads) or use the other plethora of FOSS alternatives.
Funny enough, I’m getting ready to board a plan soon and I’m using sync 😂
Have you tried Memmy for iOS?
Yes I have! Memmy is a great app and it was the first one to reach the Apple store. The development team consistently pushed out updates pretty much daily and was able to provide the most features of any Lemmy app currently on iOS, at least in my opinion.
My main phone is also an iPhone, but it’s just something about sync. Like it’s seriously so fluid and it just feels “right” I would highly suggest giving it a try if you have an Android device laying around that can support it.
That’s fine. In my opinion, I think that would be more of a valid point if there were no alternatives, but as the original post shows there are plenty of FOSS apps available for those that want that.
I just feel like the developer has took a lot of his time and effort to make this for the community, but instead, some of the community decides to bash him for it due to the pricing model and it not being FOSS.
We’re supposed to be building Lemmy as a community but here we are fighting against ourselves internally when there’s plenty of options for everyone to use.
I honestly don’t see what the problem is. If you prefer FOSS use FOSS apps.
I’ve tried every single Lemmy app for iOS and Android, but I can honestly say nothing comes close to how smooth and native Sync feels.
I wasn’t even a Sync user on Reddit so I didn’t understand the hype, but I get it now. On my Pixel 6 Pro all of the other Lemmy apps had some kind of issues, whether that be random crashes or frame rate issues. But Sync is just so smooth and feature rich.
I’ve also joined the sync discord and the developer is very clear on what type of data he collects (He doesn’t, but Google may).
Also with the pricing, if you don’t agree with the price that’s your opinion, but the amount of complaining is ridiculous. He made the app so whatever he wants to charge is his decision. You can also still freely use the app (with ads) so no one is forcing you to buy.
Someone get my man a map please
This is actually pretty cool. Feels like I never left reddit now haha.
Yes! Got stopped by mine one day at the end of my shift going out the main entrance and he just kept talking for about 15 minutes. I was making it pretty obvious I’m off and trying to leave by even putting my foot in the door, but he just would not stop talking.
Now if I see him I just make a quick detour and use the other exit.
I recently just bought a pixel 6 and have been interested in Graphene OS, but would I lose features like live translate and the hold for me feature?
Yeah for jobs like that it seems odd for the engineers to not want to see the prototypes.
Seems like people like that are in the wrong profession for sure.
This right here! My commute is rather long. I spend about 2 hrs total of my day commuting to and from work. I could save so much time and money on gas if I was full time remote.
Yet they still want us in the office…
I work remote twice a week, which is nice, but I seriously wonder why I even have to go to the office the other three days.
Most of who I communicate with to do my job is not even in my location, so I’m regularly using Microsoft teams and WebEx. Also all the programs are accessible on my work laptop from home.
Depends on the exercise. My favorites are heavy squat and deadlifts. It’s just a good feeling increasing the weight every week and hitting new maxes while getting stronger.
I suck at bench so I’m never looking forward to that, but I’ve set goals to hit by the end of the year so I’m sticking to it.
Honestly now, I feel terrible when I don’t workout and it really affects my mental state.
Same here. I’m not going to lie, I’m still a little afraid when I see his face now as well. I think I’ll always be afraid of Chucky.
Chucky 🔪
Oh I know exactly what you mean. When I was in my government position I would write paragraphs of information as a response to what some may think was a simple question, but you’re right, in those types of positions you have to over explain because it saves a lot of headache going back and forth.
It’s out on the App Store now!
May I ask what pixel do you have? I’ve been on the fence for a long time about buying one and I’m interested in those features you mentioned, but I’ve heard they have some issues such as overheating and bad battery life, at least for the 6.
Oh I’ve actually been told by fat people that there’s no way that I actually enjoy working out and that I’m forcing myself to go to the gym while not enjoying it.
Guess it’s weird I like improving my physique and enjoying seeing how I can reach new goals ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
