I think chairs and tables are insufficiently different - people would end up using one as a substitute for the other. I think a more interesting question would be what if you were required to magically eliminate all perfectly level planes (tables, chairs, beds), or eliminate all slanted planes (ramps, screws, lazy boys)

I think the main thing is even if they were using the same underlying model (like chatgpt or Claude), they give them different prompts. For example, the one you linked seems more clearly prompted to give you a humorous roast style summary. Just from the screenshot from Reddit I get the impression they gave it a prompt about “you are an assistant for community moderators who are evaluating what course to take with a user” or something like that.

Besides what the other commenter replied, with Trump there’s a special value in controlling his agenda because often the last person he talks to will have the most sway. There have been stories about his appointees taking advantage of a rival appointee being away or in a meeting, and getting Trump to issue an order or even just tweet a position on something so it’s harder to walk back when someone else gets his ear.

You know it’s not strictly auto completing sentences that previously existed, right? It’s using words that it anticipates should follow others. I’ve had it suggest code libraries that don’t exist, and you’ll hear about people going to the library to ask for books that haven’t been written but supposedly by real authors, and it sounds like something they would write.

I had waited a long time to have any kind of personal experience of God, and finally gave up. Like they said, the holy spirit was supposed to work in you, I prayed for it and looked for it for a long time. Since it didn’t appear, no reason to excuse the problematic passages or shitty people.

I don’t think this is entirely accurate. I understand what you’re saying, that a determined person can relatively easily bypass this hurdle and view the content.

Still, I can see value in creating a hurdle. It’s not unsurpassable, but it requires energy to pass it. And sometimes that’s enough to not be the low hanging fruit. Maybe the poster wants to avoid trolls, or they don’t want that particular content to be easily scraped.

I have a friend who works for an independently wealthy minor noble. The guy is getting his masters as an adult and has four people “helping” him. My friend had to fly to another city because the noble’s son was moving there, and they needed my friend to set up the cable and assemble furniture before the son got there.

One advantage as I understand it between a worker cooperative and an ESOP is that the worker cooperative has a one person one vote system. It avoids the issue you mention about not having voting shares. I worked at a place with an ESOP and just the managers had shares. And even there they didn’t prevent the business being sold to private equity. Sure they got paid out but now that previously family owned business is part of a monopoly in our industry.

To me it seems more likely they’ve compromised your email or texts than that they got lucky and observed you going to the police station. If you mentioned in a digital communication to anyone that you were going to file a report, and the stalker compromised something digitally, then they would know.

For the stalker to actually observe you going to the police they would have to be pretty dedicated to watching your home, which is both risky (that they could be seen) and labor intensive.

If you drove there, it’s conceivable that they put a tracker on your vehicle.

Probably doesn’t need saying but I think it’s extremely unlikely they have sway over the police or made a report disappear. It’s easy enough for nothing to happen in the normal course of business.

Lastly, do you live with someone or have a close relationship with someone that you don’t get along with? If you’re experiencing “real life” interactions with this stalker seems more likely it’s someone you know rather than a complete stranger.

The original was funny to me because people thought the second guy was fine when the reality would be if a woman is calling human resources there’s probably something there. It’s a joke told from the perspective of someone who’s unable to see anything wrong and is only representing their side of the story. So I thought this was a riff on that idea, and viewed in that light this version is funny too.
