I suppose I vaguely care about film adaptations of videogames in general. Interesting that there’s so few good ones

Yeah the new guy who played Greg in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend wasn’t nearly as good. At least they made some knowing jokes about it

I thought it was alright. I wouldn’t say good, but I wouldn’t say dogshit either. I’ve no urge to watch it, but I’d watch it without complaint if someone else put it on

I’ve never knowingly met a billionaire, so I’ve only ever seen staged appearances. I’m pretty sure Musk would be weird despite his billionaire status. Trump, or probably any president, knows there’s a million people out there who would willingly kill him, but I think that’s about power and how he wields it rather than because of the money he has

I think I’d impose near instant karma. Dick cancer for rapists, sprained wrists for people who fap to porn I don’t approve of, billionaires would suffer extreme depression and paranoia until they downgrade to millionaire status, torturers get IBS and hallucinogenic migraines during every job, and corrupt politicians suddenly get unexpected bills for $100 more than the money they made from the crooked deal.

Seems likely. Got nearly 30 years of pretty regular alcohol, cannabinoids and occasional disco biscuits under me belt

I’m not an OCD kinda guy meself, so I couldn’t be definitive about it

Experience Tourette’s-like symptoms. If I remember a painful memory, usually to do with regret or embarrassment, I shout a string of unrelated words. Luckily this doesn’t happen in company

Yep, I just conceived it right now!
But in reality, experience, wisdom, intelligence and strength are valuable: in the same way a parent is ‘in charge’ of a child, every tribe will almost be default have one or more leaders. That doesn’t mean everything they say has to be obeyed though.
I’m impressed by Facebook’s new method. AI generated images of 4 stacks of rocks are generated, and you have to choose the image containing a stack with the specified number of rocks. Much better than deciding whether the section of image containing a couple mm of handlebar counts as a square with a motorcycle
“Teach your kids critical thinking and media literacy”?
I guess Id best go learn that myself, then

That societies were wrong to promote non-violent protest as the only permitted form of resistance.
Thank you!
I did try Stath Lets Flats but I found the humor a bit too cringey. Like… it was good, but made me wince so hard my contact lenses cracked
Ah yeah! Baby Reindeer was fantastic; Ladyparts good too. Somehow forgot about those.
Haven’t heard of most of the others - will give them a bash; thanks!

Good point, there.

You would be stupid to pick up two if you knew you were going to throw one away. Food waste is not a good thing.
But - as odd as this might seem - you could offer the second lettuce to someone else. Either someone else leaving the store, a friend/neighbor or work colleague. Yes I know it’s unusual to stand up in the office and say “does anyone want a free lettuce?” but it’s not only harmless, its positive!

They do put restrictions on smoking and drinking - they outlawed deals on those years ago. Tobacco is about 50x the price it costs to manufacture because of taxes, and guess what? There’s millions fewer smokers now than there were in the 1900’s! People who don’t drink, or who drink much more rarely, are a much higher number than they used to be too.
Personally though, I do think tobacco should be completely illegal. Maybe nicotine products too, though they do help people with ADD self-regulate
EDIT You are right that the costs of alcohol to the NHS is still pretty huge though - about £5bn a year and 10,000 deaths, not to speak of all the other costs. Some good stats here: https://britishlivertrust.org.uk/27-4-billion-cost-of-alcohol-harm-in-england-every-year/

It’s a good change. What would be even better is promoting 2 for 1 deals on fruit, veg, nuts, seeds, pulses and grains. Arguably meat too, though with the environmental impact of the industry that’s harder to justify
I’m not clear what the actual threat to people in the west is? They’re costing us jobs and some wealth, presumably… is that it?
