I definitely notice the political ragebait suggestions too. I’ve had all kinds of blocking on the platform for a long time, so it’s scary to think (but not overly surprising) that that is what they’re trying to spoonfeed everyone.

I agree, the assignments will need to adapt to discourage the use of LLMs. Easiest is in-class writing or written exams. Unfortunately that takes away from other class activities.
I remember one of my favourite courses in university had exams where you could bring in any resource you wanted (excluding phones), because the exam was written in a way that required understanding of the core topic, something you can’t simply look up.
I’ve just started using linkwarden and love it as well. I chose it over Karakeep because it archives a copy of the page so it’s still accessible if the original page is modified or becomes inaccessible in the future.
What are you using for oil? Perhaps it’s rancid. Or perhaps you have an allergy.
Just another day in Florida.
That’s a great point. Doesn’t much matter if there are methods in place if many are complicit in the tyranny.
It’s quite interesting how American’s have always been about their government’s “checks and balances” to prevent tyranny, but all it took was one person who was fine with saying, “fuck your checks and balances” to effectively create a dictatorship, and the whole government is left blabbering, “you can’t do that” with no mechanism to actually do anything meaningful to remove the tyrant.
Like, I’m sure there were “checks and balances” in place for employing directors of these various governments offices, so it’s almost comical that a President can just fire anyone who doesn’t agree with him. I suppose it’s not surprising for a country with very little worker protections, though.
icantstopbuying.domains seems most appropriate…
I’ve heard of folding@home but haven’t really looked much into it.
Right, but I would say the same thing and for a gaming machine, I would much prefer something that did the Arch install for me and worked for most games out of the box.
I’ve found CachyOS to be fairly uncomplicated and it’s gaming tweaks make most things work out of the box through Lutris. I’d probably avoid the standard Arch install for a newbie
This is my setup too. I use WG-Tunnel to manage the VPN connection on my phone. It just monitors whenever you disconnect from your trusted WiFi network and automatically enables the VPN.
Only hiccup I’ve found is wireless Android Auto isn’t a fan of a VPN.
There’s no helping this one.
The internet must be a miserable place for you.
I wouldn’t worry about it, it’s just a minute detail.
Not that I’m familiar with. I would guess that the limited processing power of a phone would bring a pretty poor experience though.
There are quite a few options for running your own LLM. Ollama makes it fairly easy to run (with a big selection of models - there’s also Hugging Face with even more models to suit various use cases) and OpenWebUI makes it easy to operate.
Some self-hosting experience doesn’t hurt, but it’s pretty straightforward to configure if you follow along with Networkchuck in this video.
I came across ryot a while ago but didn’t have a chance to really play with it. It might be useful for something like this though. Grocy is another that comes to mind.
I see. That’s good to know, thanks.
I disagree, conservatives reduce taxes on corporations and the rich. Alphabet has all the incentive to subtly (or not) nudge the narrative so more people vote conservative.
