I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
I get a silly amount of pleasure from writing these, so its always a huge relief to see it not go down like a lead balloon!!!
That girl who plays Steam Deck and writes about gaming + Linux a lot

Seems to be the perfect time to find a Switch OLED instead! With a new model coming, surely people will try to offload their current gen consoles at a cheap rate!
Please do keep on with Death Stranding! It really opens up and shows you the whole world in a bit of time. Its an investment, but to me it is pure cinema and art. I adore it so much.
And thank you, I’m just happy to get any comment saying these are positive for people. I appreciate you saying so!
Thank you so much!!!
9 of these so far, and it seems like I’m averaging every…3/4 days. Which sounds unhealthy when I see it in black and white -__-
(I keep promising everyone and myself that these will be one-per-week, but so far? I can’t stop mysefl!)
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! Always makes me smile seeing someone enjoyed these!!!
Yes, absolutely.
Even better, unlike Steam you own the of line installers, so you’ll always be able to own that game, even if GOG itself closed down.
Welcome back to the dark side!
I always find the Decky woes way overblown, they only happen when a major Deck release happens - and even then all you gotta do is reinstall Decky on desktop mode (or wait a few hours for an update).
It never deletes settings.
But, yours looks beautiful now. I esp love the Halo art!!!
Just go to desktop mode, and in the ‘pictures’ folder, locate your images.
You can transfer them to a USB, or even email them via the browser if you’ve no USB handy!
The STEAM button + R1!
Though I use the plugin from Decky called ‘shotty’ with the same hotkeys- it lets me take screenshots inside non-Steam games, which is the vast, vast bulk of my games library (GOG)
Enjoy!
I love the myriad of things I can customize on my Steam Deck :)
Oh no! How’d it happen?
With you RMA it? Or iFixit the screen yourself? I’m sorry to hear, that’s sad news.
If you have a dock, at least you can still use it that way I suppose!
Oh, its SO easy to do too! (The running of games, not the kissing)
I have never played them, so its really nice for me to have them playable as the best version of the games they can possibly be :)
Enjoy!!!
How did you find Citizen Sleeper? Enjoying it?
For some reason I got obsessed with that, but the recent sequel which by all accounts fixed any issue and should be better…just didn’t grab me.
Ahhhhhhh looks like the community control layout a user uploaded for FTL recently on the Deck is made for you!
This is so sweet of you to say! Thank you!
Having not been alive for the era I love the most (my father showed me the old world, where it was forums and individual’s blogs…dedicated sites which weren’t relying on ads being shoved into readers’ faces. So that’s 99% of my inspiration here. I just feel continually blessed that people read these and find what I find as interesting as I do.
So thank you!
I hope you have fun with testing Junk Store, too!
And feel free to add me on Matrix, if you’d like!
From the developer:
“The open source version will remain and the Gog extension people have already paid for will continue to work. Nothing will be taken away. Nothing will be broken intentionally, that’s not how we roll.”
If you’re in a country that let’s you, Buyee is a good option!
Its a auction proxy service that let’s you bid on the Japanese auction sited (as well as straight-up buying). They have super affordable options that way! My hobby is buying very cheap ‘junk’ consoles, fixing them up and giving them new life.
Annnnd there’s a strong homebrew scene for the 3DS now, so the library is extensive
Thank you!!!
I somehow never played a single COD game until the most recent one on Game Pass. Sometimes the older ones look interesting to me, but those inflated old prices for such old titles make me a lil cross. The one in space appeals to me!
…I hope maybe one day they’ll come to Game Pass :)
The amount of the modern retro gaming handhelds is staggering. One company (its joked) seems to announce one each week!
But its nice that it gives people an option to play the old games without the old headaches. Modern IPS and OLED displays, save states and customizable community make OS builds mean there’s just a myriad of options now :)
