+1 for Winix. I’ve had several of the 5500-2 units for 2-3 years now. They do a good job and I appreciate that they have HEPA + charcoal filters so eliminates more than just particulates. My main complaint is that the lights don’t fully turn off at night so I always have to cover them with something (usually a T-shirt). Otherwise I really like them.
This trailer is my favorite even though it’s old now.
It’s when they added pipes to the game.
Even if it ends up NOT being ankylosing spondylitis exactly - you should know that there are some hereditary factors that predispose to AS but also to other, similar conditions which are collectively called “inflammatory spondyloarthropathies.” Given your brother’s diagnosis you probably have a higher chance of one of these conditions because of your shared genetics. So yeah absolutely ask another physician until someone investigates your symptoms!
It’s really interesting to me that you have provided this additional clue because ankylosing spondylitis was literally the first thing that popped into my head reading your story. I agree with others that your story sounds much more than typical aging symptoms and you should seek the opinion of another physician.
I’m trying but I’m in a new place and the past few years every time I start to make a friend….
It turns out they love fascism.
Not sure if this is a joke. For years my phone was the only one paired with the Bluetooth on my wife’s car as I like to play music when I drive it but she couldn’t be bothered to mess with it and listens to the radio. That doesn’t mean that I am usually the driver in the car though as she usually drives it. It was paired for the few times she wasn’t in the car and I had to use it.
Deep Rock Galactic.
Rock and Stone, Miner!
I use the back buttons in Deep Rock Galactic to mirror the A B X Y functions. This allows me to jump for instance without taking my right thumb off of the stick. I have found this is super useful as I can be steering my POV while jumping. Took a minute to get used to but now I absolutely love it.
Rock and Stone, miners!
I’m sure your comments were as thoughtful as this dumbass meme.
making a big deal about it
Maybe I’m wrong but isn’t this sub for posting minor annoyances?
Same for me. I took multiple trips as a young adult where I just took scenery photos. Twenty years later I really regretted not including myself and family in those photos. Think of yourself in the future and skip sharing them online.

I bought and love the Tomtoc carrying pack which has enough space for earbuds, charger, and cable but isn’t onerous in size. Highly recommend it.
Edit to add that the pack is soft so if not stuffed full it takes up less space than some of the marketing photos suggest. Also it’s nice because it has a stiff, padded baffle inside that is made to fit over the screen and controls to protect them from getting smushed despite the soft pack.
To be fair I’ve had a similar thought after finishing a couple of games. Both were indie games though and I thought they were underpriced relative to the value that I got out of them. I mostly felt that way because I really really want to encourage good behavior from studios rather than see it all go to microtransactions and subscriptions.
This may be unpopular but I was deeply disappointed in Shawshank Redemption when I read it. The movie is top tier.
Edit: In retrospect this doesn’t really answer your question as you asked about bad movies with a worse book and Shawshank is definitely not a bad film.
I don’t think that’s true at all.
I realize the geometry predicts some optimal spot for viewing the curve but that just is a mathematical ideal not a real world necessity. If it was then everyone who has ever watched a flat screen would be like “omg I feel like I’m too close because I’m not watching from infinity.” I have a 35” monitor with 1800R and it is very pleasant in a normal desktop setting. I looked into 1000R screens since I like to sit fairly close and the curve felt so extreme that it was a major distraction no matter which distance I sat at.
I guess I’m saying that the curvature is very much a personal preference thing and if people can tolerate a flat screen they can also tolerate a curve that isn’t meeting some mathematical ideal.
When I was younger I read somewhere “If you give someone $20 and never see them again, it was probably worth it.” Accounting for inflation I think that perfectly fits your situation.
I’m glad they stated no subscription but just the mention of “games as a service” makes me nauseous.
I’m a radiologist and our group uses an LLM tool to assist with generating reports on imaging studies. Our reports have a body that includes all of the imaging findings (which we dictate) and then a conclusion/summary calling out what is most important (and serving as a tl;dr for other physicians). The LLM tool analyzes the body to generate that summary of important findings. It certainly is not perfect and frequently requires some editing. Overall it is faster than me creating the summary each time though.
