Yeah I got two or three sentences in and just closed the window.
Or maybe I was abused in a narcissistic relationship for four years and learned a thing or two.
In my experience, I’ve known long before they did.
Not no tiny ones either, or they’ll still walk up to you with their nonsense. Get some bigass highly visible headphones.
They when they start yapping at you anyway pretend you can’t hear them. When they start waving around frantically in front of you, and this is the important part, slowly take off the headphones, look at them sideways and go “huh?”. Make them repeat themselves. Don’t engage. Get back to work asap with the headphones again.
Eventually they’ll tire of this song and dance every time and move on to someone else. Hopefully.
Die Hard.
I’m using Sync for lemmy and another Sync for reddit thanks to ReVanced.
The reddit community has been reduced to a mob of slobbering children and bots though, so I’m not on there nearly as much. I also avoid contributing because I want to see it slowly die out. Sadly it is still the only source for some information.
This is me but I at least keep my stuff indoors, clean and organized.
Anyone planning on doing this, please think of the CEO’s…
It was discovered that one of our contractors was using prison slave labor to make the parts they were selling to us. Most of which had defects that needed to be repaired.
After some debate it was decided that this was fine.
I was assigned to do the repairs on the defects. Those continued to be made and delivered. I can’t say what these parts were used in but just imagine … something really super fucking important.
For that and other reasons, I quit within a year.
I took a crack at dropshipping this year. It was a struggle, but there was potential for it to become a side hustle. If the 40% tariffs go through in 2025, that whole business model is more doomed than it already was.
This story could easily be about america in the not too distant future.
Same, then tried other apps before sticking with Sync.
I’m not opposed to that, but if they expect me to be at a physical location at any point, I’m SOL.
This is the way
Hardest thing for me has been finding actual remote work. Look on any job board these days and everyone’s claiming “remote*” when they’re nothing of the sort.
StarLink has been a game changer for me. Expensive as frick but so worth not having to find cell towers or monitor data caps anymore.
Google. It’s been a long process but I’ve been degoogling little by little for a multitude of reasons.
I used MIUI.EU on Xiaomi phones for some years and it was pretty great (and inexpensive). But I wouldn’t suggest it in the USA because the carriers here don’t always play nice with them.
I wish I had some good ones but I’ll be watching this thread.
What I can say is that anyone on youtube that’s got a channel dedicated to a particular hustle is no longer making their money doing that hustle. They are an influencer now.
