Not really, it was the first year. Only 4 plants.
Where I planted them gets 12hrs of sun during the summer. I only had to water 3 times, we got 2+ inches of rain like every 7 days most of summer.
All thirty pounds? (13.6 Kg)
I’ve got thick skin from 20 years of handling cardboard boxes and metal shavings.
Towards the end I was thinking I should have worn long sleeves but it was 90°F (32°C) and that sounded like that would have been worse.
It’s also my first year. Trust me my hands were yellow and sticky by the time I was finished picking.
What I’ve read online says you should pick them when they start getting firmer and having a papery feel to them, and outsides start getting sticky from the resin.
You can make a very bitter tea with it. I’ve donated mine to a local brewery. There’s not really much access to wet hops around here. So I’m excited to try the beer they’re making in a couple months.
Don’t know, I don’t smoke.
According to a websearch, it tastes like hops.
And I’m getting conflicting reports of a light sedative effect. But that’s probably just oxygen deprivation.
You think I don’t know about beans?! I almost died in freshman year at Biffmoore because I ate a bag of uncooked beans. Dry Beans!
This is the second maybe third week. These are the earliest ones, most are just starting to cone.
No it can’t. Why would someone maintaining a code base want to read and debug code submitted by someone else who didn’t even bother to write it, especially if I’m not already using Claude code or another vibe code generator.
It had a better texture and flavor, but it probably wasn’t as sweet as a store bought one, but I could get a sweeter variety and likely win there too.
Honestly everything out of the garden is better than store bought. And I’ve mostly planted and forgot it, its not like its even hard work.
The measuring tape is labeled, and it’s not like I own a metric one.
Also I’m pretty sure I added alt text describing it in inches, but I can’t seem to pull it up.
I meant garden fresh tomatoes are the only raw tomato worth eating, processed/cooked tomatoes are great.
21cm, its 8.25 inches.
Not sure what I’m doing right but my 2 plants have 12 melons between them. Though the others are probably 6" diameter.
Maybe it’s because it’s a fresh garden plot and while i do have a turf yard its got a heavy clover mix. So the soil isn’t trash.
Literally the only kind of raw tomato worth eating, store bought tomatoes are the worst.

I’ve been here the whole time!

My understanding of the original concept was you were essentially running a pokemon daycare, but for cats.
As a fellow sufferer of Covid Brain Fog, it is being dumb.
Even if it’s temporary, which so far hasn’t shaken out that way for me. I am currently the dumbest I have ever been.
The amount of things I used to do for fun that I now have had to quit or hire out to others because I can’t do it anymore is deeply demoralizing and frustrating. It feels like a part of my identity has been stolen from me.
It’s 7.5 lbs per plant, and no, I didn’t do anything but weed, water, and mulch.
