Pretty much every northern European country has had it since the 80s. Nowadays we melt it into new packaging though, supposedly it requires even less energy. And you get money for turning them in :)

Many people still drive older cars due to costs and environmental factors, meanwhile there’s no real reason to use an old version of a word processing software unless you really want to due to nostalgic reasons. And automatic braking doesn’t even exist on every new car…
Not really, autosave has been a thing for so many years at this point
You lost me at Nazis lmao
Please don’t water down the word
This just isn’t true though lol, python is one of many.
Where are you located? Personally I am located in Sweden and have some tips and tricks here, but my knowledge is limited outside here sadly. Personally, I applied to a coding bootcamp and worked my way up because I knew for certain that I wanted to become a developer, and didn’t want to mess with the “other stuff” that a university program implies. I had some very limited previous experience with coding. Most countries usually have something more “job specific” and shorter than a uni program, and in that case I would recommend something like that!
Most important of all: Please just DO IT. I worked as a lathe mechanic for years longer than I should have. I was just scared of change. Now, I am happy every single day to go to work, because I remember how hard my life used to be. Take my advice and don’t be afraid, if you feel like a job in IT would fit you better!
As someone that used to be a blue collar worker but now is a software developer, people like us REALLY need a reality check. Working from home is a privilege that most people will never experience, and I am forever grateful for having the opportunity.
Lmao we’re still as capitalist as ever. Americans have a skewed sense of what capitalism implies due to your super-duper-mega-unregulated-corporation-shareholder-moneymaker3000 type of ultra capitalism
They seem to have them in stock for a week about every other month or so, I usually skim through their newspaper to see if I find anything interesting
If you tie your shoes using the “runners knot”, which most sporty shoes are designed for and eliminates heel slip, you will have a hard time getting them on without a shoe horn or having to re-lace them every time.
You won’t find a house in Scandinavia without a shoe horn, it’s fascinating how rare they are in the US and most of Europe
There are cheap ones on Amazon that work exactly the same as the original brand. I bought mine for 8€ in Lidl, it has served me for years without fail
Wanna trade with my 1989 Toyota? 😄
…or by living in Sweden :)
Guess that’s not really an option for most though, lol
Where would the nuclear waste come from?
To be fair most people still cook with teflon, albeit PFOA-free, so we’re still actively consuming teflon. And the worst part? You need to use plastic cooking-utensils with teflon pans. And as plastic utensils wear down they shed lots of microplastics straight into your food.
I’m usually very sceptical about things that “might supposedly” be bad for you, but even I refuse to buy any teflon pan and/or plastic cooking utensils. I now use cast iron with steel utensils :D
Most of gen Z are in their 20s, I thought we counted as the last spiderman :(
