They excused it as “I’m overworked” which… fair enough, but that doesn’t excuse this. I blame Microsoft, not this fella.

ohh I see. I use Voyager (mobile Lemmy app) so I don’t see the link, many thanks :)
why is it c/ and not just !mildlyinfuriating@lemmy.world?
you can’t even poke fun at selfhosted people anymore because someone WILL 100% spend 48 hours straight 3d printing and programming a toothbrush
edit: you have to be kidding me https://kuenzi.dev/toothbrush/
What are some niche things can could do/install/play on the steam deck that most people wouldn’t really do or think about doing?
I will say that the support for some of these “less used” games is very difficult to get running for someone who hasn’t used Linux before and controls will be tough depending on the game.
Getting OSRS with runelite was difficult but nice once i got it working. You need to get Wine to run the Jagex launcher then install Runelite separately. Don’t ask me how as I hardly remember how I did it myself lol
Also I haven’t tried this but getting Flash games would be dope. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone try it yet, but I’m sure someone has.
Also anybody know any casual games can play randomly on public transit and don’t have to sit down and play.
Celeste, Doom 1993, webfishing single player.
However the ‘sleep’ feature means most games work well portably, you don’t really need a special game (but still get Celeste it’s awesome!) just playing the games you own already will be MORE than enough.
I won’t use it myself but developing any Open Source Software is more than deserving of one click of mine.
Also IIRC instance admins can see who upvotes so @ a lemmy.world admin if you think it’s actually bots (I doubt its bots personally)
Are you against progress to a goal? We can’t just instantly change something as large as the medical industry overnight
I can understand (though not agree) with banning clear advocation for violence of CEOs, but the “I haven’t had a reason to smile this much in a while” message that got the user banned was too far.
We will still consider suggestions of jury nullification for crimes that have not (yet) happened as advocation for violence
I see jury nullification as similar to self defense, just at a larger scale. I take this message as “You’re not allowed to talk about defending yourself for future occasions, only ones that have already happened.”
I guess talking about owning a gun for self defense can be seen as “advocating for violence” but that’s a narrow minded view, where nullification is only used when the ethics are on the greater good, like thousands of deaths vs the one.
I can’t see it in Voyager and have to go to the website in my browser :/
Hope they add bio support soon
I don’t follow, do you mean Lemmys icon?
it’s really just a Gameboy huh
But you’d have to purposefully code it, you cant just have it automatically done using a library
IIRC there’s rumors they’re working on terraria 2 (or just a different new game entirely) due to the fact that they are hiring some employees that wouldn’t be very useful for terraria 1. Also I believe there has been some twitter hints or something.
relogic being based as usual
So it detects if there’s a single folder inside the zip containing all the files or all the files directly inside the zip? That’s useful!
Reminds me of Minecraft texture packs back in the day where nobody really understand how to make a texture pack and all used Ms paint and this was a common issue as clicking “add to .zip” on the folder would make a containing folder and not work. This would mean each user would have to extract it and have folders in their resource pack folder instead of zips.
This… worked, but when the client(basically a large QOL mod) ~50% of people used added the ability to put texture packs in folders to organize them it treated the unzipped packs like a folder so they stopped working.
For the modern versions mostly. 1.8.9 has pvp and minigames where cheating is more similar to cheating in a FPS kinda game where it actually harms people. Also during the $1 sale Minecraft was in the middle of a population boom (iirc due to Dream getting popular) so the moderation was overwhelmed. Here’s an example of what cheating looks like
https://youtu.be/MD0khw_V0WA
this was horrible for the v1.8.9 Minecraft scene (obscure I know). Cheaters could pay $1 to make an account, cheat on it till they got banned, then refund the dollar and make a new account with the same $1.
Now anticheats are better than they were a few years ago but still, essentially free accounts to cheat on isn’t helping.
I don’t understand the point of a private tracker tbh
WOOOOOOOO!!! (i don’t watch skibidi toilet and have never played fortnite)
