It would cost thousands in labor to set up temporary tax rates based on alcohol content. Most systems have tax rates which apply to product categories, not alcohol content. Liquor store pos systems in the US, at least in my state, typically don’t even store the abv in the price book, which would make this taxation virtually impossible to comply with.

If the crime has already been committed then that’s ok. If the crime is not violent in nature then we can discuss JN, and if we are just having a general conversation about JN that’s ok too.
Specifically, the concern is that talking about JN in the context of some hypothetical violent crime that has not yet been committed could be interpreted as advocating for violence.
This sounds pretty stupid so far, but my question is then, why wrap the ToS around specifically jury nullification? Why not just reiterate the ‘no advocating for violence’ policy.

Lighters last a super long time and they don’t contain batteries which is the real concern.
If you are in pain now, you will love it when they are finished with the root canal. I have had six of them over the years, and every time I went from feeling absolutely horrible to 100% in the 1 hour it took them to do the operation.
The only thing that is not comfortable are the initial numbing shots.
Make sure they get you good and numb. If you have any doubt as to whether you need another shot, just get another shot.
After 3 or 4 or 5 shots of numbing agent, you won’t feel a thing.
Once the numbing wears off you will feel totally fine.
It’s really not that bad, much better than living with tooth pain.
Also, ask for a big gloop of topical anesthetic where they are planning to do the injections, it helps a little bit.
Lastly, ask for 10 milligrams of diazepam if you have someone to drive you. A little benzo to take the edge off goes a super long way and dentists have no problem prescribing it. Have the dentist prescribe it and take it 1 hour before the appointment. I am 200lbs and 10mg does the trick.

Some republicans might recall a time when they were the patriotic ones, loving their football, their police, and their country. Now the party of trump is being told that football is woke, that the police are weak, and that the country is a shithole.
I think some of them miss what the Republican party used to be.

I am really only pushing the merits of the flat rate for delivery and percentage for dine in. The dollar amount of that flat rate can certainly be location adjusted.
I’ve noticed a lot of coffee shops have flat dollar amount tip suggestions lately, not percentage based. Your local pizza joint should try this.

Tipping is just another way for the corporations to reduce the overhead by having the customer pay the wages of the employee directly, reducing both the budget for salaries and also the reducing ancillary expenses like unemployment insurance and employer wage withholding, occupational privilege tax, etc.

While the dollar amount I suggested is particularly applicable to metro / high col areas, the concept still applies. The same expense/effort on behalf of the driver exists for a $30 delivery as with a $130 delivery.
The same cannot be said for dine in.
Flat rate for delivery, percentage based for dine in is a sensible solution which I didn’t come up with myself. More sensible of course is fair pay which negates tipping altogether but we aren’t there yet.
If small town Indiana is a particularly low cost of living area then maybe $4 is a fair tip. But where I am from, $4 doesn’t last five seconds anymore.
If it takes them 20 minutes to bring you your pizza, then go back to the shop, then at best they are making $12 per hour minus the mileage and gas and other expenses they incur driving their own vehicle… it’s a real shit job that can only be made better by decent tippers, until such a time comes that tipping is abolished (I won’t hold my breath).
Crazy, they’re basically saying, ‘we know this is impossible so just do your best, as long as you remit everything you collect then it doesn’t really matter what/how you collect’.
This is very unfair to the small business because inevitably there will be some customers who will be pissed off when the store doesn’t collect properly, and small business won’t even come close to doing it correctly.
Making temporary short term massive changes to taxation is a very dumb idea. Canada must be drinking uncle Sam’s koolaid to be acting this foolish.
