The key is to look like you are doing 20% more work, but not actually do 20% more work. Of course that only works in certain cases.

But I want to make Batmans :(
I would be fine with it if my job was just that review stuff.
But man when you are in the middle of something and you have to review something because they need it soon… It’s annoying as fuck.
Yeah… The only good thing of offering free tier is to fill gaps of unused machines during low usage hours, as they otherwise have the machines unused. Of course it only makes sense if that makes you money, like people testing it that eventually subscribe, having ads on it or similar.
Well… Let me tell you some people doesn’t have that much time to game at once…specially the ones that didn’t get a gaming computer or console which this would benefit.
On the other hand I guess the free tier has queues so not sure if it would help for those.
I keep hearing this thing about delivery.
I can say that personally here in Spain, of course it’s a completely different place, the overnight 1 day shipping still works. Just saying that the enshittification is not global at least on shipping. Of course all depends where you are located and each product if they are prime or not, which hour you order it, etc… But the day they say is the day your receive it except some very very rare exceptions when there is a delay.
Of course that’s just my experience in my town…
Well…it solved some people’s income problem 😂.
Yeah I was expecting a recursion where the last one is this meme in itself.
I feel like that unless they were killed because of the crazy people in the neighborhood, which are still there, I don’t see the price dropping… It’s another Hollywood lie…
And now with AI they can get even weirder, specially if they trained it on already weird stock photos.
I mean… it’s not great but unless you don’t have family or they are not aware of those accounts that will not last years.
I got all the rest and I see your issue with wanting to sync only individual files. But I didn’t quite get what you mean with this: “…that the user can’t enter”. You can enter and copy/move/edit files… I cannot understand what you meant with that.
Regarding the sync thing, I am not as annoyed by it as much as you seem, and my use case probably was different, but in case it helps somebody what I opted to was to use it as a disk and use tools that work with disks, so in my case although other tools could be used I use FreeFileSync to copy files from the Drive to a local drive and viceversa. Mostly for backup purposes.
I would be tempted to say in some cases it is even better as in the past you needed to to use their APIs or use their tool to setup those specific sync options and now I can use any tool that works with copying/using normal files.
That said… for other environments like a server or similar, then you are back to RClone and API auths or similar to do actions on your drive.
You have to keep it all downloaded and synced or none.
This is me just nitpicking, but you can flag folders/files to be available offline and it will keep a local copy always, but it will be in their drive thingy. So you can access it even when offline but it’s not copied outside their virtual disk. It’s just a right click menu option.
I needed that Elon vs Zuck fight man…
But there are other situations that manually saving wouldn’t be solved and auto saving does.
Like it’s easier to lose data if something happens before you manually save it. With auto saving that’s more difficult as it is auto saving every x time or x changes. Yeah you could do that manually… every x minutes/work but it’s something that clearly should be automated.
The main issue here was assuming something has a feature and that it has it enabled without checking if it does.
Well actually you got confused as I am not the guy who did say “disk drives”, that’s somebody else.
In any case I understood you as talking about the non BluRay indicating they are common in builds.
I mentioned BluRays because that’s the only one that nowadays could make sense to have and could be common to add to a build, but not even that is being used commonly due to being expensive and basically only used by movies and those are usually played elsewhere.
I honestly don’t think most people would bother building a new PC with a normal disk drive, they are completely useless. New games/software/video/music are digital or use BluRays, except music I guess. And any other uses has been replaced with external USB drives or other mediums as those are better in many ways. So unless you have some specific need it’s worthless and if you have a need a external USB disk drive is more practical.
I mean up to certain point… If the job you don’t lose… doesn’t provide you enough to live…might as well be unemployed.
Idk about now… But BluRay Disk drives were quite expensive and not worth it, only worth it if you could burn Blu rays but those were even more expensives. So not common at all. Even physical games that could have benefit from then used just multiple DVDs instead, like the Flight Simulator 2020 which uses likes 10 DVDs
I agree on the hype, I meant that I don’t think it holds much of the economy.
Ok… But is ££8 more expensive than £8?
Yeah… that’s the thing… What could be so messed up that you want to cover it and not say anything about it? Maybe at the end is nothing crazy and she didn’t want to share or talk about it or whatever but feels super weird.
