It sounds like you were told up front that they want to maintain everyone in their current positions. If there isn’t any possibility for you to move anyway then getting denied isn’t really a reflection of your value or merits as an employee at all so I wouldnt put too much weight into it.

You do that in your nginx config, it’s only a few lines. Basically define the endpoint that you want to forward to the internal service then setup the destination IP and port.

Configuring nginx as a reverse proxy seems like the simplest way to expose your stream.

The battery life is already not great when running anything intensive. Can’t imagine being able to make anymore sacrifices there without making the thing useless.

I don’t know about getting worse but it definitely has trouble in my area with some businesses/ parking lots and how to get in to them
