  • It was fine cheers, honestly pretty uneventful.

I started playing Satisfactory and have been pretty hooked (I was up till 2am Sunday morning, after the clocks had gone back) playing, I haven’t played a game like that for a loooooong time (like 15+ years). My son loves it too so it’s been great talking with him about various strategies!

I haven’t heard of the V&A museum! What’s in it? Glad the kids had fun, that’s pretty much always the metric for success as a parent!

Running is OK. I’m still carrying some kind of calf soreness that flares up after a couple of runs a week. It’s a bit demotivating and I really should see someone about it, but… I’m lazy.

  • What happens in that situation if someone were to injure themselves leaning on your wall and it collapses? I’m guessing you’re liable?

Nice work on doing it yourself! I’m always terrified of doing stuff like that and making a huge mess of it.

If you’ve added too much water, can’t you add more cement to thicken it up? I have no idea what I’m talking about so just a wild guess!

  • How’s yours?

Copying and pasting from another comment because I’m lazy 🙈

It was OK cheers, mixed bag really. My dad’s health isn’t great and I’m having to do more and more for him. He can barely walk and is overweight but just keeps rejecting any ideas we have that will help him. I fear he’s going to have some kind of accident and the decision making will be out of his hands.

Had a work trip to London for a few days though which was nice, had a bit of a game day one day with various people from across the org so a good chance to meet new people you wouldn’t normally meet, and also an all paid for bar in the evening. Generally just nice to get away for a bit and chat (I work remotely so don’t physically see my colleagues that often!)

Glad you had an awesome week!

  • I do like the idea of permits. Landlords must have a permit per property within a local authority (LA) and reject applications if they see fit, such as having too many permits already or blacklisted. The LA should be free to set whatever cost they want per permit. Tennants can raise issues in a centralised portal where the landlord can view them and resolve them, and if they’re not actioned upon or done properly the LA can intervene and start charging additional fines, or failure to deal with serious issues like mould could see the LA taking possession of the property.

The LA set the rental price so landlords don’t just wack up rent prices.

This might provide some income for cash strapped councils without having to purchase their own housing stock and managing it.

There could even be some funds available for well rated landlords that have to use the money to improve properties as an incentive to be proactive in their repairs etc.
