Ya, the amount of people outside bicycling, hiking, rafting I saw out there was awesome!

I got to experience Japan too, but I was even younger but 6’ tall. So my experience there was mostly around how I could see over everyone :)
I switched over to Actual last month, and am not looking back. I will miss the native android app, but it is an otherwise direct replacement. I was using YNAB4, and had forever.
Anecdotal story about Colorado.
I visited CO a couple of times a while ago for work. I was in my mid 30’s (2007) and fairly fit. I left Cincinnati Airport surrounded by overweight people all around me where I felt pretty good about myself. I arrived in Denver, and suddenly felt like I was on the less fit side of the spectrum.
It was VERY obvious the change. It was not something I noticed / thought about in Cincinnati, but it hit me like a ton of bricks when I landed in CO.
I’ve talked about that experience through the years. I have to watch what I eat, and work to be ‘as fit’ as I am, it definitely does not just come natural or anything remotely like. I drove around / hiked pretty much every moment I was not working and both trips were amazing. Such a beautiful state!
Thanks, I’ll check them out. I’ve heard mint a few times as a good beginner distro. I’ll probably dual boot my PC on whatever I am gonna recommend him for a bit so I get my bearings and can support him a bit :)
No it doesn’t, but my 75yo dad has been asking/thinking about switching when Windows 10 eol.
Most of my Linux/Unix experience is at the server level.
What distro did you get them on?
I’m sure if you used the kiosk often you could learn it. I struggled to just order a 1/4 pounder meal. It wasn’t showing me combos.
But i don’t have any desire to learn it or visit McDonald’s :)
Wife mentioned it today at work and it appears “that” McD’s is notorious for being awful. Again, I’m McD’s expert but the story on here about profits down last quarter was just odd timing for me ending up at one. So ijad my own opinion as to why there may be more issues!
Haha
Appreciate the comment! That said, I’m not looking to find ways to better my McDonald’s experience here :)
I just need to build that time since I was at McDonald’s back up. I wanted to vent after seeing the story about price likely causing their 1/4 results. I think there’s more to it.
It appears they close at midnight, and we got there just before 9pm
I just looked to confirm. They close at midnight and it was just before 9pm.
I didn’t but everyone else thought it made sense. I’d have rather gone home and eaten a sandwich
Well, in all fairness all food prices have gone up, and 4 of us cannot eat for $40 at a non fast food joint.
I am not surprised the service outside the US is better where labor laws are likely also better.
Not that I was there to begin with, but they 100% will push my parents out of there as they do not want to deal with them. I would think their primary long term customers were boomers, and they’re gonna reject Kiosks.
Ya, same. I think I may have gotten a burger one time when I took my kid (now 14) in there for some ice cream 7-8 years ago. Then unfortunately twice this year. But I’m going to go back to normal of actively avoiding the place
One of the many reasons I dropped Prime in January when my annual subscription ran out. I now avoid amazon where possible, or for certain things I’ll group them up until I have enough items to get free shipping and order that way.
No prime day garbage No more “oh, let me order this thing I don’t really need that will get here in a few hours”
Sounds like this would at the very least remove $20-30m in revenue (according to the article) not counting if the copyright holders decide to go after them.
I think it puts them in a precarious situation overall.
So, my current whole house audio is powered by Chromecast Audios. Unfortunately they no longer make them. But you can still get them new off eBay. I know because I just bought 5 more (unopened from Japan) as part of finishing our basement
Mine feed two 12 channel (six room) amplifiers. I’ve got a mini in each room whose default speaker is the associated CCA and it works great. I have speaker groups so I can ask “hey Google, play music in the basement” and all rooms play.
Previously I used casatunes. They don’t do this anymore, but I bought a PCI card from them (it was a sound blaster hardware) but it was a 6 channel sound card and associated software that ran on windows IIS. It allowed both hardware and software streaming. I liked it but it never supported Google music and eventually I switched to the CCAs
