not a huge difference i’d say. in athens you can get really good food
hey I just wanted to share that I moved to a small, remote-ish village in Greece about a year ago (born & raised in Athens, a “big” city for our standards, the biggest in Greece) and it’s quite close to that.
It’s been amazing although I miss ordering food online and maybe the occasional bar/coffee with friends.
It’s almost inside a forest and 15’ drive from both mountain and amazing beaches
Thank you for listening, I honestly hope that everyone has the choice to do the same <3
I really need to test them as well. Being ~100GB each is quite good for me, I won’t need more than 100 for my whole life
I get it about stuff that you don’t really care about But if I spend a day looking for a specific movie, I’m taking it to my grave
Damn I read “my cat needed to be enthusiased and I just received her ashes” and though WTF did you do to make her so excited?
side note: enthusiased is not an english word but in greek (ενθουσιασμενος) it makes sense and it translates to “excited”
I’m so happy about steam’s monopoly. I almost feel like they’re there for us, they broke capitalism
exactly that, INCLUDING server-side binaries to re-create any online features
I could argue that the source code should become public domain as well but we already sound like crazy people
discs are a personal archiving solution (quite a bad one too, unless you’re into m-discs n stuff) and do not solve the data accessibility issue (copying it is labor intensive and needs human interaction, in contrast to a torrent)
Just a side note that M-DISC exists which is essentially a blue ray disk with a claimed longevity of a thousand years (strong emphasis on “claimed”. there’s a lot of controversy around it)
but yes the only way to retain access is piracy as it allows people that didn’t have the media to get it
γερμανος κ ξερο ψωμι!
BTW: please don’t root/install magisk on a phone you use <3
yeap steam is the best example of a service i’d very happily pay - I’ve paid LOTS to them and just last month, I downloaded “have a nice death” for yuzu, played 30", loved it and insta bought it on steam. It was 25 euros but having my saves forever and being able to single click install & play is something that I value more.
you don’t get to get my money AND fuck me, pick one (netflix, youtube, etc.)
that being good at your job doesn’t define you. it’s not a “trait”, it’s not a label. sometimes you’re good, sometimes you’re bad and sometimes you just are.
it’s just a job after all and a job should never be more than that: just a job
wait till you start the deep dives - it just gets better and better
rock and stone to the bone
huh, you’re right! I’m trained on a different kind of code. In C# in particular, which I use mostly to do sneaky stuff (patch/inject runtime code to, um, “fix” it) and when I see a project that it’s too clean it smells
I also see python code (I code regular stuff in it) that could be written much more cleanly using monkey-patching
it’s mainly text chat but it’s a ton of fun with friends (where i imagine you’d like voice chat)
I’ll put my vote to Deep Rock Galactic for online. It’s a game (that you MUST check out) with one of the most wholesome communities ever. Most people are super nice in the chat and I’ve made a friend or two (for me that’s a lot - I’m extremely picky cause I feel very nice with the amount of friends I have already)
ROCK AND STONE BROTHER!
