I like the feeling of getting stronger and coming back to previously inaccessible places. Pretty much only play games on Steam.
I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone mention Hollow Knight yet. I won’t claim it on my list since I haven’t finished it yet, but it seems to be popular.
Started my first playthrough of Sekiro and it’s really hard. I’m slowly embracing the playstyle, but I have so many habits to break from the other Souls games. I like it, but I don’t think I’ll be up for NG+ if I ever finish the NG run.
Also started playing Sable and I really like it so far. It kind of feels like an open world Zelda type of game without combat. It’s quite relaxing, and the art style is absolutely beautiful.
I played TUNIC fairly recently and I also love and recommend it.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
My older cousins got me into it, and they were the coolest.
My first playthrough took months to finish. I would just roam fighting every enemy, cutting every bush, charge into every tree, sprinkle magic powder on every living being to see if they would transform. I loved that it felt limitless in the secrets and exploration. It’s definitely the main reason I’m so into the Dark Souls games as an adult.
Robot support
I had a good, brief conversation with one the other day. I told it I was going to their competitor because they didn’t have annoying chat pop-ups.
Same. I found a way to soft lock myself into (one of?) the final boss fights and then my PS2 laser failed. Loved the game though and been looking forward to playing again for like 20 years.

Finally
Tie between the time I threw my back out changing the car tires and it hurt so bad to breathe I had to lie flat on the ground, and she was mad because it delayed me driving her to go do laundry.
Or the time she was mad about me installing the air conditioner in our apartment to cool down (the cats loved it too), because, “It doesn’t benefit ME”. That was shortly after I asked her to start paying for half of the utilities while I was unemployed. I had been paying them all myself for 3+ years, including the two times she was unemployed in that period.
Pseudoregalia. I wish there were more boss fights because I thought they were well done, but still a great experience overall.
Elden Ring, just a new run because it’s been a while.
Besides continuing to do what you are already doing, try looking at the career sections of local businesses and applying directly to them/through their career pages. I was in a similar situation recently and noticed a lot of companies were apparently hiring, but didn’t have listings on job sites.
A couple projects at the moment.
A 3D platformer/adventure, my “dream game”, which I realized the scope exceeds my capabilities for now until I learn more. I’m taking some inspiration from games I’ve been playing like Cavern of Dreams and Pseudoregalia and will be simplifying it eventually to be closer to those. Here’s a little demo video of the character hopping around a level and solving a puzzle
A 3D rogue-lite made from the bones of the project above. There is a drought threatening the faeries, so you have to go collect dew drops from dusk til dawn before they evaporate. It’s basically kicking balls in a 3D space and plays kind of like a janky Rocket League. Sort of fun, at least!
A 3D platformer/FPS, sort of like Half-Life. This is my latest and is meant to help me solidify an understanding of game systems and how to keep it lean and simple. The shooting is janky though and I’m not sure I care to make proper enemies so it might get simplified further to just be little puzzles.
Sounds like you are a couple steps ahead of where I’m trying to be. I don’t need many amenities or anything, just some peace and fucking quiet. Outdoor space for a garden would be a dream come true.
The constant barrage of unfortunate events.
Went through a breakup while unemployed and was facing homelessness since my cost of living practically doubled instantly. The cats were hers and I miss them every day.
Got a new job and my car broke down and died on the first day of work.
Trying to move to somewhere affordable but I definitely need a car for where I’m looking to go. Found a car but it’s 5-6 months wait time for the factory order, so I continue to pay insane rent by myself in the meantime, and look for a used car to maintain my good standing with the insurance company.
Got a brand new bed a few weeks ago. Yesterday noticed ants climbing all over the wall right next to it. Luckily they weren’t in the bed but I had to move it to an inconvenient spot for peace of mind, and worry about more ants coming back. There’s no food or anything even close to the bedroom.
Every time someone moves out of this apartment building the new people who move in have multiple dogs. There are more dogs than people living here. They’re constantly barking and howling and setting each other off and nobody does anything about it. I can’t escape the noise anywhere in my unit.
I just want to get out and start the rest of my life in a new place already.
Consider getting a line of credit to increase your buying power and in case you have repair costs in the future.
Absolutely get a set of winter tires, not just for safety in Canadian winters, but also because it should lower the cost of insurance. Do not skip the winter tires.
Bake your own bread. It costs less, tastes better, and there are no plastic bags involved except for re-using ones you already have.

Tails of Iron. I’m having a blast with it. The voice actor that did Geralt’s voice as the narrator is a lot of fun. Combat feels good. Only complaints are the side quests (optional) can be a little repetitive, but worth it if you want new gear. And the jumping/ledge-grabbing mechanic feels a bit imprecise. Overall a fun game so far.
