Yeah, but can I use the Indian service to make calling my number from there illegal? I hate to point out the obvious, but most of the scam call centers are there.

This makes so little sense to me. One would think that an app would have a wider user base as well as being easier to take down. All they would need to do is run the app and see where it phones home to, then send a C&D to the distribution platform(s).
I’m not a hoarder by any means, but my external 2TB drive is finally getting full. I just recently learned just how cheap storage is on a laptop with the 2.5" bays. I’m likely gong to use the new 4TB drive for general storage, then wipe the 2TB drive and move all of my content there.
You want a chair that makes it look like you’re about to lay off the bottom 10% performers.
It’s just cool to see Lemmy in any search result. It kind of reinforces that what we are doing here matters. Downside is that if an instance goes down, only a potential archive is there.
Ah, the Dashboard Confessional special.
OK this hilarious. Guess who owns this domain. It is Sky UK
cute!
Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down a highway.
Yeah it has always been like that. Source: 25 uninterrupted years of EverQuest
Had to? No. Should have, especially when extracting unknown files with a weird structure? Absolutely. BSD malware very much exists, which means Mac malware exists. You may have not felt the need to worry, but you very much should have been careful.
I second this. Scan everything before unzipping, and if you can know what the target files should contain beforehand.
Those fucks forcing money into their pockets from science are the absolute dregs of society. I actually respect angel investors more since maybe they made a good decision with their money (that feels gross to just type, even!). The fact that a select few companies are able to make science pay to win is absolutely sickening.
This is coming from someone that never even graduated college, let alone spending time in academia.
AT Launcher for Minecraft has a native Linux package. I know that isn’t the particular launcher you asked for, but it works great.
I mean, yeah. That isn’t necessarily the point here, though. There’s a lot of frustration surrounding the need for private trackers and we could maybe solve that here.
maybe we make a usenet group as well?
I believe that this, particularly, is why many fast food restaurants are closing way earlier than they did several years ago. No, it isn’t because of the pandemic. It’s because someone (Gen Z) finally got fed up with the bullshit of managers dictating when they can work as opposed to a fixed schedule. No, no one should ever have to bear the burden of “picking up a shift” - that’s just shitty management and has been for around 60 years. We’ve all just bowed our heads and accepted that we need a job. Gen Z said, collectively, “Wait, what?” and the world will be better for it. Under no circumstance should someone ever be forced to work 2nd shift one day and early mornings the next.
Starrett tools. All of them. I’ve put them through Hell and back.
