  • I’m in an anarcho syndicalist union and we used to promote training course. In the end, those training are mainly done by minorized people (based on gender, race or social class). Men having courses for unions or other proletarian organization are paid. This is discrimination, in which benevolent took it parts.

You don’t choose you mentality, you deal with your condition. Now, we pay people on a dedicated solidarity fund for they chosen collective, such as a strike fund. In the future, when this conditions will evolve, we will stop using money.

Relying on individualists means is counterproductive

  • Top 10 played games on steam :¹

    • CS GO : compatible Linux
    • Dota 2 : compatible Linux
    • Battlefield 6 : not compatible
    • ARC Raiders : not compatible
    • PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS : not compatible
    • Path of Exile : not compatible
    • Rust : not compatible
    • R.E.P.O : not compatible
    • Banana : compatible Linux
    • Bongo Cat : not compatible

So 3/10, and 2 of them are made by valve with an explicit orientation toward Linux. Because I’m unemployed, I computed playtime of those games²:

      1. Counter-Strike 2 : 36,07 %
      1. Dota 2 : 21,54 %
      1. Battlefield™ 6 : 10,46 %
      1. ARC Raiders : 8,16 %
      1. PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS : 6,78 %
      1. Path of Exile : 4,08 %
      1. Rust : 3,93 %
      1. Banana : 3,24 %
      1. R.E.P.O. : 3,08 %
      1. Bongo cat : 2,67 %

Tbf, I didn’t expect that Linux Games represent ~ 50% of playtime of the top 10. This quite impressive, and it does underline an interesting trend. However, I think a lot of people use their personal experience to other, with no regards for the social contexte. I got 3 different computers, I’m used to Linux, and I couldn’t play to almost every games. Because I’m too poor to get the right hardware, because my friends do not play on compatible games, and gaming is a social experience. My point is not that we shall not make FOSS propaganda’ my point is that software need to be produce regarding the need of the people in our diversity in order to make FOSS mainstream. Everybody is not in IT, in the US with a engineer wages.

  • tbf, data shows that less than 60% valve games release this year runs on linux with no issue and 30% runs with major or minor issues. This stat is stables for years, so we could generalize it; however it do not represents actual gamers experience; very few games represent the majority of gametime, and a lot of them do not run on linux.

Moreover, when the hardware hardly meet the requirements, some people experience crash on linux where stable on windows.

  • The class conscientiousness where not that high in Russia. And the vanguard party (the bolchevik) were severely weakened before the revolution. I don’t for others countries, but if “helping” consist in “stealing all the gold reserves, force self organized milicia to obey to officer coming from nowhere, and even attacking and killing selforganized workers”, yeah they definitely help.

For information, their where not once mass organization on those vanguard and hierarchical line before the intervention of the USSR. Using materialism dialectic would have make USSR to back the revolutionary force, not trying to lead them at all costs.

  • In any demonstration, you have to make some unproven statement, taken as true. It could be “1+1 = 2” or “God exists”. So sciences are methodologies based on believes. Lot of religions use logic and reasons, based on science and philosophy, to deduce things from their core believes. This is theology.

So if both science and religions are based on believes, and could have the same methods, how to distinguish one of the other ? We could argue that science try to reduce believes as possible. Personally I’m not good enough in sciences to argue with religious people, and demonstrate that point. In trying to challenge my believes in scientific models, I have to stay tolerant with religious people (I’m not sure I would otherwise); which is a most productive approach. Furthermore, it helps to have a critical point on view on science (as you’ve said, and to taking it as a blind faith)

  • How do you know that science is not a believe like the other ? My answer is in challenge it with other believe systems to explain reality. Of course some things make a lot more sense with science methodology, but to be faire, te main point of religions is not to explain gravity.

I consider other believes as opportunities, no to explain to others, or to be taught by others, but making both and strengthen us all.

However, we shall to care do not confuse religions and believes. A lot of people took part in religions and do not believes, and others believes and do not took part in a dedicated community. This is a different topic. Communities are generally a good thing, but hierarchy lead to abuses. This true in every organization, religions include

  • I am not sure this is a wide spread behavior among the IT. Reading the “Debian Free Software Guidelines”, we could have some doubts. My point is not that free software are good or bad, but that is not enough. If we want te be responsible as producers, we have to organize as such to stop production that killing us (with climat change or military for example) and promote the one that emancipate us. Free software are a way to achieve the last one, unions the fist one

I said such things too, but one day I ask myself, could I said it in front of people bombed by my tools ? Our tools are not neutral things, but produce and distribute by social relationship that we could fight. Sorry but we the rise of fascism and ecological disaster we could not afford to give up our power as producer to mass murderer

  • The fascist issue is not a biggest concern than in Germany, US, France, and certainly not than in Russia. Of course every fascist must be fought, but it’s easy to denounce far-right in other countries. In the hearth of capitalism, a consistent anti-imperialist position shall fight the imperialism state. I’m not fan of the dude, but that pretty basics leninism

About “nazi” that came to the west, it’s true, but your examples are very bad. Yea every male in germany during the 3rd Reich have to join the army. Of could they could desert, and having their family and their own life threaten, but that’s not make them nazi. None of them were in the nazi party or one of its organisation (like the SS). Adolf Heusinger may be another case, being a general is not the same responsibility and agentivity This a bad job because there is a lot of example of fascists kept at position of power in many countries, including the occupied germany and the french vichists. This lead to fascists laws and institutions being kept in those countries (some brigades dedicated to kill resistance converted in “anticriminal brigade” for example), and being used against decolonization.

TL;DR you could demonstrate nazification of western countries, but in repeating russia propaganda, you fail to do so.
