Pro 2 is symmetrical. Looks like a SNES controller with handles. The ergonomics of it are very different between it and the ultimate, and I prefer the pro 2 by a lot, but they are both good controllers.
I’m personally a fan of the pro 2. I find it to be the most comfortable controller I own. Their QC does seem lacking for the hall effect sensor version though, I had to set up a small dead zone because it idled with a little bit of input. Still a smaller deadzone than a non hall effect, but I wanted to make note of it.
Months back, I submitted a support ticket asking if they had any plans to support a d-input mode with both analog triggers and gyroscope inputs enabled, like the steam-licensed controller that just came out at the time did. They said they had no plans, but they’d forward the question. I wonder if this is a result of that. Would be cool if they also started reporting the back paddles as separate inputs as well, but I didn’t include that in the ticket.
I’ve been seeing waaaay too much unwarranted vitriol and anger in comments lately, for things that really aren’t that big a deal (like Linux vs windows) and I find it disappointing. As a community we should want Lemmy to grow, and yes that does mean we will get more “normie” posts, but imo that’s good and if someone doesn’t like it they can use more niche community spaces, which there will be more of with a larger userbase.
If the host has Plex pass other accounts dont need it to watch, iirc.
There is a downside, and that’s why Switch 1 games have an option to become digital cartridges and it is not forced.
The downside resides in if a single account has multiple switches. With the current system, you have a primary switch on your account, and this switch can play any digital title whenever it wants. Any secondary switches on that account need to connect to the internet anytime they want to play a title. This leads to a flow where you may have your primary switch be a portable one (no need for internet to boot) and a secondary switch to be a dedicated at-home or docked device. Either switch can play any game you own without really planning much of anything. This will not be possible with the new system, where you will need to move digital licenses between consoles.
Additionally, you could have a friends account on your switch and you could borrow games that way, or they could sign in and play their games on your console while visiting you without having planned it before. Now, they will have to bring their own switch or otherwise preplan wanting to play a game on another console, and move that digital cartridge.
While I do think the new system is overall better, I also think its just wrong to claim there are no downsides when compared to the current system.
One minute for you and me, but that sort of thing just isn’t feasible for many even if they have someone walking them through it over the phone.
Unfortunately I dont have the time or willpower to go into detail and I do disagree with how you want change to come about, but if what you want happens, I truly hope it results in a better society for people to live in. I think we can both agree we just want things to be better for people.
I respectfully disagree that the party could never change due to their current funding, and I am rubbed the wrong way by how you continue to seem to push that I shouldn’t support better politicians just because they aren’t perfect.
Bernie and those like him have informed me and many others of what a good politician can look like and may have inspired others like AOC to start their career. I will support them as much as I can because they may inspire even more like them to actually have enough people to make a meaningful change in the party or, if we miraculously get away from the two party system, spin up a new one.
I dunno, I dont think it’s normal to get two blue screens on a fresh windows install.
Windows audio really is trash though, I’m totally with you there.
It certainly seems like it’s contributing. The game is a huuuge CPU hog.
Huh, good to know. Thanks!
I would not recommend drinking out of anything 3d printed.

While I am deeply disappointed by the message, their actions in the industry have still been generally positive over the years and their services remain one of the only reasonable alternatives to google, apple, and microsoft’s cloud services. Outside of the VPN, Their UX still needs work before I can say its ready for the average person - but It’s still good enough for most people here who have some base level of technological literacy.
Though I am now looking for and hoping for an alternative to crop up somewhere.
Dunno why people down voted you for asking, but personally while I love some of their games and the creative direction they take their consoles - they just have way too many anti-consumer practices.
From recent memory, they’ve DMCA takedowned YouTube videos of people playing modded versions of Breath of the Wild before Tears of the Kingdom released. This isn’t the firs time they’ve DMCA takedowned videos they didn’t like, including videos showing emulation in the past. Their online service, despite costing money to play games online, primarily relies on peer to peer networking when their console has a very weak networking chip, meaning most online games have to account for very poor connections. They have been very aggressive in shutting down websites distributing Roms for games that no longer have a way to be accessed or played. It stinks that you have to pay for their online service if you want any form of save data backups, and even those are iffy because they really don’t want you putting it on more than one console. Their handling of joyconn drift has left a lot to be desired. They replaced them… Sometimes… And when they did you had to wait a while and usually the replacement would develop it, too.
For the record, they still claim that they do not sell user information nor data.
