Any possibility this lasts past Jan 20th? What will happen when Trump lifts all the US sanctions? Will the other ones still be enough to make an impact?

It was my understanding that “net neutrality” revolved mainly around ISPs and their “common carrier” status. Specifically not being able to create “fast lanes” or other shaping and pricing decisions around content. This would also give them some shielding around content by ensuring they treated all information “equally”.
Based on that, I’m curious how your statement applies given that CloudFlare is not an ISP, but rather a paid for service that is not required to access the internet.
Please be kind, rewind.
Billionaire wants Democrats to let the ratchet move things farther to the right.
“I don’t care what universe you’re from, that’s gotta hurt."
That sounds fine if you have something reading the file independently. But the actual executable code should not be able to access its own comments.
Isn’t it still stealth if no one is alive to report it?
There’s white, gray and black hat… and then you have these guys, piss yellow hats.
So one thing I tend to do when researching a product is search for “<model_name> specs” or “specifications”. I usually try to see if they have a marketing slick or one pager of what the item has to find it out. If worse comes to worse I’ll browse the user manual, if something is ambiguous but majority of the times that search will help me find what I need.
Except Lemmy. I wish luck to anyone trying to get rid of their comments when they could have been federated to any number of known and unknown servers throughout pretty much any country in the world. The legal nightmares to get it enforced basically make it a non-starter.
It boils down to two main things in that article, possibly one… the Billionaires bought the media knowing full well the power they could wield with it, but more so, dismantling education leads to an easily influenced populace.
The pandemic was a boom for them because it created another “lost generation” and pushed so many educators to hit the breaking point and quit.
Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy 6
I irrationally hate the term “web3” (or maybe it’s rational). It feels like someone tried to force a paradigm rather than the natural evolution.
I said what I said, little shit.
(The kid, not you)
I don’t really feel any remorse though. It didn’t do what I said. It gets the consequences.
Usually what I’ll do is I’ll recombine the folders into an iso file using mkisofs and then keep the ISO as it keeps all the menus and everything in tact. Later if you want, you can run that ISO through MakeMKV and just rip out an MKV of the main title through. But since I have enough disc space I just rip all my DVDs and BDs to straight ISOs to keep all the menus and extras in tact for later.
Basically why it’s called MAD (mutually assured destruction). You’ll either get the first shot for free, or everyone kills everyone.
wtf are you on about? The Winter Solstice is very much a verifiable fact (it’s actually the 21st so I was a day off) and marks the start of Winter in the northern hemisphere. Christmas is usually (I say usually so you can’t be pedantic about the minority outliers) celebrated on December 25th. That’s still only a few days after the solstice like I was saying.
This comic is talking about the Christmas season, creeping into Halloween and fall festivities, which is very much true in the northern hemisphere. I see your on an NZ instance which, yes the seasons are flipped there, but don’t go getting butt hurt if you can’t read context clues from the comic just because it doesn’t line up with you.
Here’s the issue I have. The Winter solstice (Dec 22nd) marks the start of Winter. Christmas is 3 days later, yet people expect it to be in the middle of winter, so people keep trying to move the season up. Realistically they should be trying to celebrate it in late January rather than pushing it back into Autumn. But they had to go and steal Yule and then keep wanting more time.
That already exists with PayPal and Apple Pay for example. The remote site never sees your credit card, just an approval token. You won’t be able to get away from address though as they need to know how to get it to you.
