Usually angry music like melodic black metal or heavy stoner/doom. somehow gives me the right energy to get out of the slump.

Used to play blacklight retribution, a f2p shooter. After grinding most of the things i wanted, i ended up paying 10 bucks to unlock a cool helmet and some “shortcut credits” to unlock a few other cosmetics i didnt wanna grind for.
Game is dead nowadays sadly, but they had a great system (for the players)
Ads are a good one. If i try to watch a stream and i get a “wach after 4 ads” counter, i simply close the tab
Rammstein is not a town though, Ramstein(-Miesenbach) is.
I think a good chunk of US american military folks are familiar with Ramstein air base, less so Ramstein-Miesenbach. Internationally I’d imagine even less of either.
Even plenty Rammstein (band) fans aren’t familiar with the origin of the name, nor the town near the airbase :)
I’d comfortably take a bet that Wacken rings more bells around the globe.
Wacken, Germany.
Population: 2110
Home to one of the biggest metal festivals in the world with something between 70k and 120k people. I think Tickets are limited to 70k currently but the whole area is bascially transformed for a week
Thats a specific situation you’re imagining and isnt necessarily what happened
I kinda used to like twitter to find related stuff to my interests and content creators in a more digestible form than sifting through subreddits, but nowadays its nigh unusable.
Keep it up, don’t lose that curiosity!
I think thats by design. Microblogging vs Forums.
Ths former, like the bird app is to yell into the void and hear what others yell while lemmy and reddit is built around it’s comment sections.
yo you got your own instance running at 13? that’s so rad
i’m a dev more than twice your age and i couldn’t be bothered to read up on it lmao
Mastodon doesn’t do it for me, most of what I find interesting isn’t really… there yet.
So my mains are Instagram > Discord > Lemmy > Reddit
In that order I’d say.
Instagram is just the most “personal” social network. I watch my friends’ stories, share some of my own here and there… It’s close to how we used facebook back when it wasn’t a cesspit of ads and “pages”.
Discord is where I keep in direct contact with most of my friends, besides like messengers. Reddit is for specific problem solving and random hobby content.
Lemmy is filling the same niche but I just scroll it more than I do reddit for news, articles, hobby stuff…
Pretty much the classic way of things:
“i gotta work out -> I’ll do it daily! -> oh no i missed one day -> might as well give up”
When in reality going once a week is better than not going at all. Going three times a week is difficult enough, especially when you have other responsibilities or hobbies.
Thats when the gains are growing! :'D
Asking for help us a sign if strength, not weakness.
I know that because i find it extremely hard to ask for help.
Rest days are important! Depending on what you’re doing of course but ya need to rest
Good luck on the throne
I’m really convinced everyone in my life really sees me as a full time chore
I can all but guarantee you’re the only one in your life who thinks that. I know someone a little bit like that (thinking everyone is just being nice when they’re actually annoyed) and it’s steady work to make them feel loved.
We don’t do that shit because we have to - we don’t - we do it out of real love.
Suicidal thoughts aren’t a scheme, you didn’t chose to feel this way. Which means you’re not an abuser for feeling them.
The rest if your paragraph goes a bit off the rails, not sure how literal you mean it though.
There’s no Truman Show, no psyop, no great charade.
What people do in real life when they hate someone is they stop engaging. If any of your friends got tired of you you’d notice. They’d disappear from your circles.
Lastly, please take care of yourself.
You seem aware of your struggles, so if you are in a position able to seek help please do so. No, you’re not wasting anyone’s time, it’s ltierally therapists job to figure out how to help people.
They chose this job, and they will do it as long as necessary.
Been playing a bunch of stuff lately! Still deeply in love with Caves of Qud, a modern (ish, 14y of development) rpg in the classic rogue format. A true rogue like. Beautiful music, cool setting…
I got a steam deck so couch-compatible games like Cobalt Core, Get to Work and Enter the Gungeon.
Besides that, the usual rounds of Tarkov, and some Delta Force to try it out post release
