xitter -> nothing, nitter.net if I want to read a xeet linked by another resource. Ultimately for me micro blogging social media is a time suck with little return.
discord -> still on it for a few different reasons, not sure if I’ll set up matrix just to do a bridge, privacy and minimalism are clashing here.
YouTube -> nothing, invidious if I want to watch yt content. Short or low quality video content is another time suck, try and keep video streaming to a minimum for environmental and mental health reasons.
Netflix and others -> the high seas (it is decentralised)

Pronouns are something people should be free to explore.
Hopefully being able to look into the topic without prejudice will allow people to discover their own queerness and/or empathise with people that do use them.

My problem is not with inclusivity but with promoting uptake. If you are familiar with the grammar or phonetic sounds or some of the vocab, you are more likely to find that language easier to learn.
Both English and Esperanto share the same problems of universal languages that I mentioned. English does have the advantage of number of speakers but it is a mess of a language for people to have to learn.
Again to reiterate my counter to universal languages, why not learn and potentially help revive your local indigenous languages. In a world where universal translation exits on our phones everybody being able to speak the same language matters less.
Someone already said that either the created language takes from too few source languages and alienates speakers of languages with no common characteristics or takes from every language family and becomes a horrible mess that’s hard to speak for everyone.
So if a world language is a bad idea no matter what languages you use as a source, why not have Esperanto or something similar for Europe/English speaking world and then a different language for Asia, and another one for Africa. You’ve reduced the number of translators needed and left most people with a language close to their mother tongue. You could also break the suggested regions in to smaller sections eg give Germanic Europe a common Germanic language. West/south Europe get Esperanto, east Europe sets a common slavic language. You still get languages that don’t neatly fit like Hungarian but its better for most language learners than the last example.
Personally I’d not propose universal languages as a utopian idea and instead promote indigenous languages such as Catalonian, Breton, Irish and promote learning many languages in a post work society.

Get fdroid and download newpipe or alternative if you want to keep an app for YouTube without ads.
Alternative web front ends also exist if you are okay with watching videos in a mobile browser. I use an invidious instance, pick one that’s close to you here. Other front ends also exist.
Alternative video platforms such as LBRY also exist and I’ve found a few youtubers I watched on it.
Absolutely take it as an opportunity to reduce your video content consumption. I like the invidious solution because I don’t get notifications and it takes a bit more effort to manually open the link in the web client so I tend not to watch videos I’m only half interested in.

If you are watching any content from the web, it doesn’t matter if you download it or “stream” it. The same data gets sent to your computer either way.
My response to your first comment implied that both downloading and streaming pirated content count as sailing the high seas since both methods mean downloading pirated content.
Some people may not see “streaming” torrents as the correct way to pirate things because you aren’t seeding though.

I mean its not that crazy, I’m writing this on a moto Z2 play. It was released June 2017, not long till year 6 bit hope it goes longer. It’s perfectly usable, runs most apps fine, can even run TFT.
Phones haven’t changed that much recently, this model has a great screen, 4gb of ram(more than some laptops that are still being released!), and a decent chip. Only issue is the battery is sub 3000mah but I know of a few models from around the same time went up to 5000mah.
You do get better mileage running an OS like lineage and being degoogled since a lot of their tracking processes kill the battery and slows things down.

Everyone should keep their current devices as long as possible (either the device breaks or can no longer run work related software) to reduce the upgrading culture. You can shoot 4k now, that’s great! Keep the device even if the latest device supports 8k video. Same applies to other hardware/software features.
My point is not that we should all go back to using old hardware right now with current the current way we use our tech because that is impossible.
My point is that the way we look at technology is wrong and the way we upgrade without real reason. The average person does not need a 4k camera, it does not make them a better photographer. I’ve used digital cameras with < 15 M sensors, the photos generally sufficed for family/holiday snaps and professional photography. Yet there will be people who have thrown out phones because they unnecessarily want the latest camera tech. Wait till people want 8k recording.
That perfectly working phone that was thrown out is an example of the e-waste I was talking about. Producing computers is not with out societal and environmental cost, and to throw perfectly serviceable machines is morally reprehensible. Current culture would agree with me that its not sustainable, but most people aren’t ready to have to keep their device for 5+ years.
We’ve had video editing software available to most personal computers since at least 1999 with imovie and 2000 with windows movie maker. IMO this is all general computer users need.
Professional level video production is not general computing, it’s very niche. Yes it’s nice that more people have access to this level of software but is it responsible.
The post does raise some real issues, increasing hardware specs is not consequence free. Rapidly increasing hardware requirements has meant most consumers have needed to upgrade their machines. Plenty of these could have still been in operation to this day. There is a long trail of e-waste behind us that is morally reprehensible.
Your original comment mentioned general purpose computers. Video production definitely isn’t general purpose.
