People cut out family members for much less. I feel we are at a crucial turning point, and all we have left is letting the people we have a connection to know, that these stances are radical and not normal and that having them will have consequences. In your case not having a sibling at their wedding.
I use it to sort days and create tables which is really helpful. And the other thing that really helped me and I would have never tried to figure out on my own:
I work with the open source GIS software qgis. I’m not a cartographer or a programmer but a designer. I had a world map and wanted to create geojson files for each country. So I asked chatgpt if there was a way to automate this within qgis and sure thing it recommend to create a Python script that could run in the software, to do just that and after a few tweaks it did work. that saved me a lot of time and annoyances. Would it be good to know Python? Sure but I know my brain has a really hard time with code and script. It never clicked and likely never will. So I’m very happy with this use case. Creative work could be supported in a drafting phase but I’m not so sure about this.
I had a job with fixed days of a month shifts. And at least at the time, a lot of calendars couldn’t create repeating events for let’s say every fifth Saturday of a month. they all knew first, second, third or fourth but fifth, no luck. And aCalendar+ knew and knows that.
I paid for my calendar app, cause it had a feature I needed no standard app had plus it’s pretty good in other regards. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
But we have: nach fest kommt ab!
Which translates like: after tight comes off
I have seen it in a sneak preview, I think I wouldn’t have watched it otherwise.
The German international broadcaster “Deutsche Welle” has some interesting podcasts on various topics. For example the African roots series
Was hast du hier verloren? Zurück zu ich_iel aber hop hop.
Some pong clone that was integrated in our neighbors TV.
Be prepared for age-related farsightedness! No changes if my aging body irritated me as much so far. I think mainly because of the abruptness of how that set in. It felt like an almost instant change, people showing me things on their phone and I couldn’t read it anymore. Taking pictures of fineprint to zoom in etc.
The thing is, saving is, in large parts, a habit thing. you stop thinking/planning about/with that money you put away. especially if you put it in something you don’t have immediately access to. And the earlier you start the smaller the amount you “have” to put aside.
Funny how we laughed at Trump holding a glass with two hands.
It’s crazy how morphed your image of your own child is because there are cute babies, and I thought my first born was one of them. But with a bit distance I can say for sure: he wasn’t. He’s very handsome now though :)
I’m sorry for your loss.
I started counting calories. And it’s works pretty well. Maybe give it a try.
Don’t you all count your knuckles for that?
I love flakes road to… Without mechanics videos. My mechanics suck after thousands of hours playing the game but focusing on non mechanical aspects of the game really helped me. Still miss open nets though. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)
I get that individuals aren’t the problem impact wise but couldn’t it be the case that if the majority of people life a more sustainable life it will be easier to create laws that put stop the real poluters bc people are in support of such regulations?! If the majority of people think the existence of billionaires is immoral, it will be easier to tax the rich…
