I’ve def seen them in Seattle
I’ve def seen them in Seattle
I default to having a meltdown, smashing the screen, yelling “where is the goddamn mute button”.
Is this unhinged, yes. But if we all did it, they would eventually get the message.
Really though, I mostly get gas at Costco cuz it’s cheaper and they don’t do that shit.
The claims I’ve seen are that search results are censored. Like if you search for specific phrases like “Trump fraud” you will get back videos in every country except the US (unless you use a VPN). I haven’t tested this yet, but I have seen videos on TT where liberals and leftists are complaining about it and about the all the Trump dickriding around the ban. The people in my feed are now very distrustful of the app and are looking for alternatives.
If you’re trying to demonstrate real world programming skills then selecting and using an appropriate library is the best move (unless this is an unlikely case where there is some really compelling reason why a custom implementation would be preferable).
But if you want to make your own hash table for funsies or for educational purposes or whatever, you could add a note or comment stating that, if you’re concerned that prospective employers might get the impression that you will write everything from scratch even when it’s a bad idea.
The thing is, whoever did it was pretty smart about much of the crime, which is why the story of how Luigi was caught and what they say he had on is person seems so odd relative to the behavior the previous week.
If it was Luigi, he was pretty disciplined and smart before, during and immediately after the crime with the only leak being showing his face at the hostel (which he may have been required to do when he gave them ID).
If he did do it and really had all that evidence on him, maybe he wanted to get caught? It seems crazy that anyone would hang onto a 3d printed gun when it would be pretty easy to destroy and dispose of it in multiple pieces and locations.
I’ve said it before but I truly believe that Luigi would still be free if he had plucked his eyebrows, regardless of whether he did it.
Edit to add, maybe he thought he’d get shot or captured at the scene and didn’t think too far beyond the immediate getaway? And with the stress of his picture up all over the news and social media, he kinda wasn’t thinking straight?
The one with the monopoly money? How do they know that it was his backpack? I heard them talking about the backpack and monopoly money non stop but I have heard nothing about how they are so sure that it’s related to the case. NYC is huge and there’s a lot of people who lose backpacks all the time and there’s a lot of folks who would want to troll and stir up shit.
I don’t trust the police so I don’t assume the items they claim that they got off of Luigi are legit. We’ll see what his lawyer says in court. We also don’t know if the gun that they say he had was the murder weapon. Have they done ballistics analysis or anything yet?
Damn. I didn’t realize. I have had it recommended by a doctor for mild sinus infections along with an anti inflammatory and it seemed to help, but I must admit I didn’t check any studies. I will say that the few I did find were about coughs, which could be different
What they said plus Mucinex (or the generic) makes the goo more fluid so it can drain out faster/better. Irrigation with a neti pot or sinus rinse bottle can be a huge help too. Use 2 packets of the salt that comes with the bottle; the extra salt helps draw water out of the tissue to reduce swelling. Try to snarf the water down the back of your nose and spit it out of your mouth.
Good luck. PND is annoying AF
I don’t know if it’s the absolute worst I ever read but the parts I read were pretty bad. At some point I was like “What kinda Ayn Rand bullshit is this?” and quit reading. It turns out that he was a Ayn Rand make-super-improbable-and-convoluted-examples-in-my-fictional-fantasy-world-to-justify-terrible-political-views school of writing type guy.
Eric Clapton is wildly overrated
Loose tea isn’t very common on supermarket shelves. If you live near a store that has a bulk section, then they might have loose tea in bulk. I end up ordering online from Stash or Harney & Sons
China does have a lot of agricultural and manufacturing workers who aren’t on computers all day. And they have some pretty poor rural areas. But I’m calling bullshit on Japan’s numbers. Tokyo looks like Blade Runner at night but and the office culture is famous for long hours but no one is looking at screens? Get the fuck outta here.
I used to stick to that rule and get a sensible mid sized Toyota Corolla or Honda Accord that’s a few years old as needed. But in 2013 (the last time I needed to get a new car) the cost savings were really low compared to new. I think the used market was particularly hot so you’d save less that 10% of the cost, so I ended up getting my 1st and only (so far) brand new car ever.
Sounds like you’re doing everything you can. It sucks that you’re going through this; I hope the situation improves and you don’t get furloughed.
I’m guessing that if you could get to all your jobs without the car, you would have already done so? Saving on gas and insurance can help, but depending on where you live that might not be realistic.
You could try contacting local food banks and see if they ever make accommodations for people who are working during operating hours. They might not but there’s no harm in asking.
Right now you’re in a serious hole from missing work for a family emergency. I don’t have much advice for getting back onto steady ground aside from being super crazy frugal and working extra hours in the short term (which is fucking exhausting mentally and emotionally and physically). Do you have any long term plans for having more breathing room years from now? If your steady state is “one car repair or illness away from defaulting on payments” then that’s a hard path. Do you or your wife have prospects for better paying jobs in the future? Are there training or educational opportunities that could help? Are there cheaper places you could live (smaller, worse neighborhood?) to save money while working towards better job prospects? Living on not enough money in crappy circumstances sucks but it is definitely more bearable if you know it’s temporary and you’re making progress towards something better.
Good luck.
Anyone who says their smart overestimates themselves. Anyone who says their dumb underestimates themselves. How does anyone even answer this question?
I think it’s possible for someone to know that they are generally pretty smart or not very smart without over or under estimating. A lot of people will over or under estimate but if you’re just looking for a rough placement in a third of the bell curve, there’s a lot of feedback in everyday life to help.
Pedants who choose to make big deals over minor issues are always out to prove something and are objectively not smart.
Some people sincerely have trouble adapting to different precisions of language in different situations. I know some very smart and successful people with autism who struggle with this. It can be super annoying when they are way too pedantic for the context but I don’t think being deficient in this one area makes them dumb.
Up gets me every time.
Jumping between Mac and Windows I keep accidentally awakening Cortana when I try to copy and paste. Now that god awful, universally reviled feature if finally getting deprecated but it still brings up the damn window/modal/pice-of-shit just to tell me that it’s gone. If you want to be gone, then go! Don’t make a fuss telling me about it. Just go. No one wanted you in the 1st place. Fuck.
Not the main character but Gus Fring was a remarkably intelligent gangster.
I wonder if that could be considered an ADA violation since some autistic folks may be overwhelmed by the super sudden and loud noise?
