This doesn’t really surprise me. Overwatch 2 is basically a momument to the rot at the core of Blizzard. Its biggest saving grace is that there hasn’t been a serious challenger in the hero brawler space (sorry Concord) until now.

For my money, I still think Deadlock is going to be the game that comes out on top, but it probably needs another full year to cook.

There’s no chance Deadlock beats Rivals.

Rivals is simpler and is based on the world’s most valuable franchise. It’s the formula behind it’s mass adoption. Deadlock requires the player to think more, and that alone makes it less popular than more braindead games.

Considering Rivals has already fallen into a GOATS meta and NetEase seems poised to repeat literally every one of Blizzard’s mistakes…I wouldn’t be so sure. I’ll keep giving Valve the edge because Deadlock is a fundamentally good competitive game, and it’s backed by the guy responsible for making DOTA 2 the best balanced competitive game. Maybe it won’t stay at the top, but 10 years from now it’s going to be trundling on and Rivals will not.

3 Tanks + 3 Heals, designed to group on an objective and slowly grind out a victory. Blizzard spent quite a lot of time getting rid of the strategy in OW1, and it has never been possible in OW2, because it’s both boring to play and boring to play against. mm

But marvel some how takes up 9 spots on the list. Its a terrible list if they overlap. Marvel is one of the tops if correct.

Combining all of them puts marvel at the #2 spot, however Disney does not own the rights to Spiderman. I dont know how you feel about that but that still leaves Pokemon at the #1 spot

Neither Deadlock or Rivals are going to beat each other because they are extremely different and play nothing alike. Both games will probably be successful.

Lol, no way Deadlock gets mainstream like that. I’m a casual gamer, and Deadlock kicked my ass relentlessly. It’s way too complex, and requires a certain play style and strategy to even have a hope of being good at it. Meanwhile, you can be mediocre at Overwatch and still have fun
