I have read the account of people that lived in the USSR. Stalin was a brutal leader on par with Hitler in his atrocities committed. Mao was similar. It is almost as if its Totalitarianism thats the issue. 🤔

The portrayal of the Communists and Nazis as “twin evils” exaggerates the sins of the Communists in quantity and quality, while minimizing the sins of the Nazis in quantity and quality, in order to show them as relatively equal problems. In other words, its Nazi apologia, and historical revisionism. Read Blackshirts and Reds.

The Nazis executed the Communists, Socialists, gay people, trans people, disabled people, Jewish people, Slavic people, and many, many more. It wasn’t simple opposition, it was a racially supremacist ideology.

The Communists executed Tsarists, fascists, and terrorists to the state. They did not create a systematic industrialized murder machine like the Nazis did in order to keep up with how many people they needed to kill.

I would really like to live in a society in which the state that DOESN’T execute people. The U.S. was getting close to that, but then Trump happened. So 🤷

The US has never been close to that, and has been far worse than the USSR in that the US is formed on genocide of indigenous Americans, settler-colonialism, and massacring millions all over the world such as in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Cambodia, and more. It’s incomparable.

Wrongs that could be righted. But honestly. You’re not changing my mind. I’m not changing yours. I’ll fight against communism, just like I’ll fight against this proto-fascism forming in the U.S. I’ll try and keep no one from lining up in gas chamber or being pushed out of helicopters. Your ideology sucks ass. And so do Fascists. Good day. 🎉

You’re not going to be doing effective fighting if you are afraid of engaging with raw data and discredit it on vibe alone.

Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.

              -Jean-Paul Sartre
