Judges need to use this flagrant disregard of the law to bar law enforcement from engaging in these kinds of occupations across the country.

Clearly the government is using this process unfairly, they failed 3 times in a row to indict in another case but are proceeding anyway on a lower charge because they don’t care for justice as much as they care to keep innocent people miserable.

The whole idea that national guards would have the ability to act as general law enforcement. With 0 training on such.

At best trump is hopping TV and films (both often getting it wrong). Or more likely hoping for exactly what is happening but will now start an attack on the judges,

If the latter. He will call them elites and start reusing the claims they are trying to remove power from government. Meaning himself. Basically fasism standard play book.

Honestly, the National Guard is a lot better trained at this kind of “dealing with large groups of angry but mostly unarmed and harmless people” situation. The cops are trained and experienced at dealing with individuals, for the most part, but when they’re faced with a big protest or a riot they are often making it up as they go along.

One thing that multiple National Guard people said after they got involved in BLM in 2020 was that they often felt like their role in practice was to protect the people against the police. Since their job is, more or less, to maintain order, and the people were (most of the time) pretty orderly and the police often were not.

But law enforcement is not just dealing with large groups. It is arresting individuals as well.

They in no way have the training to search individuals while being sure not to break laws and the individuals rights. Not that it would take long. Just weeks. But trump never considered it important.

I think what Trump wants them to do is put down protests, and overrule judges, politicians, and local law enforcement through violence if anyone doesn’t obey. You’re right that arresting random individuals is a lot of what they’re doing right now, but that’s not why Trump wants to send them.

That was state-internal NG deployment. Trump is talking about sending Red NG units into Blue states, and creating special task forces that are hand-picked. They won’t be the homestate-friendly deployments of 2020.
