    The merger of authoritarian government and powerful corporations is the definition of fascism. There really isn’t any mystery to unpack here.

    I don’t know that “caving” is the right word. Trump is just allowing them to get away with mergers that no one else would have allowed. And in return they have to remove his dissenters. Which seems like no big deal to them when there are no alternatives anyway.

      Just because you’re caving to a gangster so he allows you do to stuff you shouldn’t do doesn’t mean you’re not caving.

        Yeah, but it explains reasons behind it. Fascism typically goes the third way, where the line between state and corporations gets blurry. Trump is willing to bend the rules for these corporations in exchange for more control over their content.

        A lot of companies seem happy in accepting this Faustian bargain.
